Lullaby
Quiet || Gentle || Kind

Night. Lullaby's favorite time of the day. He supposes that is kind of obvious to the point of silly given his name. However, at the same time this feeling of almost complete elation when the moon rises and the other dragons slumber seemed counter intuitive. It was, after all, the time of day--or rather, night--that Lullaby had to work the hardest.

You see, Lullaby was special compared to most dragons. He was born with a unique ability; a gift he supposes. He calls himself a Dreamweaver. He has the power to see other dragon's dreams, enter them, and even alter them if he so chooses.

There was just something so incredibly... fascinating about dreams, both good and bad. Lullaby would never admit it, but despite his goal to make sure the others didn't get particularly terrifying nightmares, he took an infinite amount of joy in dream-walking and seeing every aspect of what they dreamed about.

To clarify! He never pries; certain subjects in dreams were best left to the dreamer alone. He also never forces a story, be it dream or nightmare, unless the nightmare is particularly damaging. One reason being that it took a large amount of energy to dream-walk, let alone change a dream's outcome. The other reason being his knowledge of the terrors that happen when his powers are mis- or overused.

When Lullaby isn't worrying over, or enjoying, other dragon's dreams, he has a fondness for reading. It isn't always quite as exciting as seeing the action in a dragon's dream unfold, but it's a lot more coherent. The best genre? Fantasy of course! Stories of magic unbound, lands unknown, and mythical creatures called... what was it... humans?

Because of all the magical places he reads about, Lullaby also enjoys fashion to an extent. He likes wearing little knick knacks, bows and things... some of the things he puts on a more questionable than others. Just don't try to convince him to take it off. He'll figure it out... eventually.

To be honest, Lullaby can make himself out to be quite the odd character sometimes, and his mostly nocturnal nature means he doesn't really hang out with other dragons too often, but he considers himself everybody's--or most everybody's--friend. Because, he's been there from sweet dreams about loved ones to the nightmares of deepest, darkest fears. How could he not love everybody else?

As fate would have it, one of Lullaby's children, his son Aylin specifically was also born gifted. It seems as his father's abilities as a Dreamweaver were passed down onto him. Lullaby made sure to teach his son everything he knew about his new powers and made an emphasis not to use them for the wrong reasons or anything like that.

The soft pitter-patter of rain against the roof of the den was lulling to Lullaby, quiet snores of his wife greeting him as he shook his half-soaked fur. He had been helping a mother soothe her hatchling from night terrors that had been tormenting him when they had heard the storm approach. She excused him to return home, not wanting him to get caught up in a downpour, thanking him for her now happily snoozing son before sending him on his way.

The rain itself hadn't been that bad, and likely wouldn't get much worse, yet Lullaby had been happy to take the excuse to return home and get some sleep himself, snuggled up nice and warm with his beautiful wife.

Placing down the bag of supplies to aid with sleep he had brought with him, Lullaby looked over at his wife's sleeping figure, her sides rising and falling with each gentle breath. A soft smile graced him as he approached her, ducking his head down to nuzzle the top of hers only to immediately be overcome with an intense feeling of fear that he knew was not his.

Stumbling back, Lullaby looked down at Dream, noticing the way her face was twisted into a grimace. She was having a nightmare, or perhaps a vision. While those normally came to her during the day, it was not unknown to happen at night as she slept. With slight hesitance he pressed his snout to her head once more, willing himself into her dream. He was always unsure when he used his powers on his wife, as there was so much more weight to what he was seeing, so much more risk. His legs gave way beneath him as sleep took over his body, collapsing to the floor beside her.
