Sentinel of New Atlantis

_New Atlantis_

Deep in a marine valley of The Sea of a Thousand Currents, the glistening crystal dome of the underwater city of New Atlantis spreads out for miles over the ocean floor. This vast structure is a haven for aquatic dragons and their familiars, and the bustling metropolis is home to many priests, scholars, scientists and mages. The vast libraries and grand temples boast some of the regions greatest thinkers, and budding young philosophers vie for places in Atlantis' renowned Lyceum of Higher Learning.

But the city, while advanced in many ways, still has its problems. The Beastclan wars rage underwater as well as on land, with oceanic factions led by tribes of maren warriors making frequent raids on New Atlantis and their trade partners, disrupting supplies and depleting vital stocks. Threat of attack by the large and dangerous beasts who dwell in the abyssal trenches also remains a risk, as pods of Spiny Whales drawn to the city lights have been known to repeatedly strike the quartz barrier, terrorizing the civilians on the other side.

_The Sentinels_

Eventually, the Atlantian Senate decided to appoint a task force to defend the city, and the Sentinel army was created. The strongest and bravest of the applicants were chosen and trained to protect New Atlantis, each proud soldier clad in steelscale armor with a flowing cape and decorative netting. A wickedly sharp trident bearing the royal insignia was awarded to each Sentinel Captain, and they lead their teams in patrol around the dome and surrounding areas. These fearless dragons are the city's first line of defense, and they face danger from many different foes.

The toughest and most courageous of the Sentinels is Captain Pelagia, leader of the troops who guard the trade route to The Spiral Keep. The sea-fae is hardy, with reflexes as quick and deadly as a shark. Her body is covered in glittering scales, and her strong wings reflect the luminous darkness of the ocean, helping her to camouflage when observing enemy behavior. Pelagia's webbed claws allow her to swim as fast as the maren she often chases, and none have escaped her capture yet...
