Biography
Of the three offspring that Rauth and Shinari had, Arakodu was the oddest both physically and psychologically. He had an extra set of antlers upon his head and an extra talon on each paw. At first it was thought he was mutated, but the clan's soothsayers (Lakrae and Bralinas) said he actually a throwback, possessing physical features that Imperials only had thousands of years ago. Many in the clan found this ominous, for Imperials in those times were considered... darker. Concerns were heightened when all noted his behavior: as a hatchling he was quiet and reclusive, never participating in play as often as his siblings and always watching everything with calculative eyes. Bralinas made it clear to Rauth and Shinari that they had made themselves a very unique child, and that he was a sign that peculiar events were ahead.
As he grew up, Arakodu became very close to Hahnverk, finding he enjoyed studying books as much as his adopted brother did, and he has a unique bond with his sister, who seemed to be the only one that can make him relax or get his mind off issues that would make him insomniac. The three spent hours together reading novels and encyclopedias, though while Lenara focused on fictions and Hahnverk was more diverse overall with his reading materials, Arakodu focused almost primarily on magic. He is somewhat distant from his parents due to having little in common with them, and has butted heads with his brother, Tsarkov, since hatching: Tsarkov's verbal aggression and confrontational nature easily getting under Arakodu's scales, and Arakodu's accomplishments and reserved manner irritating or downright making Tsarkov insecure. He is close to Leikan and Redwood: Leikan inspired him with his nobility, and Redwood simply intrigues Arakodu with his mysteriousness and odd philosophies.
As a young adult, Arakodu is detail oriented, brooding, and has developed a strong sense of justice. His interest in magic gave way to talent, and he spent years honing that talent until he was the most skilled spellcaster the Clan of the Deep Echoes ever had, proving formidable even to rival clans in the area. Because of his intellect and observant behavior he also proved a competent tactician, his ideas strengthening the clan's defenses. However, he tends to only see the world in black and white, and he has an arrogant streak in him that makes it difficult to consider new ideas or concepts. While his intentions are good and he truly cares for the innocent, his bipolar thinking and sense of justice make him at times... cruel. Bralinas and Lakrae have noted this, and expressed privately to Leikan and Rauth that Arakodu was destined for something great, but did not know whether it be for good or evil.
Concerning the Maren population, Arakodu is in favor of peace. He has no wish to run the Maren off, and he has learned from his father and Leikan the great benefits of being friends with the Beastmen. However, he seldom interacts with them because Leikan has made it clear that the negotiation team is large and diverse enough as it is. Some though speculate this is actually because Leikan doesn't want the Maren to get the wrong idea about the clan based off of Arakodu. The Imperial has a dark aura, and the Guardian would rather their neighbors get more comfortable with the Clan of the Deep Echoes before meeting Arakodu.
