Biography
Atrovich came drifting into the coral reef, knocked out and scarred. When the Clan of the Deep Echoes revived him, he could not remember anything except his name. Days he wandered the caves and swam around the reef searching for anything that would tell him who he was, and he even found objects he believed were part of his past: a raptor effigy and an old celebration shawl. He does not know their exact significance, but he feels they were of great sentimental value, especially the effigy. He left in search of his history, but a year later he returned with a grimace and furrowed brows, saying he never found anything. This, however, was a ruse. After a week he confessed to Remus that he had found a little town to the north of the Tidelord's domain where he bumped into someone he formerly knew, and was lucky to have run into that exact individual. The dragon was a family friend of Atrovich, and she told him that he had been a member of the ruling family in the local Water Clan which, a year prior, had fallen to a coup. Survivors of Atrovich's family split and fled, going wherever they thought enemies wouldn't be blocking their paths. The family friend only knew that Atrovich had fled to the southwest with his sister, but that was all she could give. Atrovich speculated that, for some reason, someone or something had knocked him out and left him for dead, or was trying to keep him from something. He searched a while longer for his family, but only found graves to most. He returned to the Clan of the Deep Echoes because he was tired of finding evidence that his former life had been eradicated, and has tried coming to peace with that ever since.
Atrovich is intelligent and perceptive, quick to read body language and tones, and knows exactly what to say to make others laugh. Most in the clan like him, and he is closest to Remus; the Coatl's devotion to his deity intrigues Atrovich, and he values his conversations with Remus like diamonds. He is also close to Shinari, who he clings to like a replacement mother. He hides his depression behind a curtain of humor and wit, and some have mistakenly thought he has moved passed his tragedy, but he has told those closest to him that he still has nights he needs to sneak out and rip a tree to shreds. He wants to move on from his past and start a new life with the family he has now, but he suspects that in order to do that, he needs to lay to rest the questions that keep him up at night, like what his family was like, their accomplishments, and whether or not they deserved what they had been dealt by their clan. He has considered returning to the family friend in secret to solve those puzzles, but he fears that what he will find will just amplify his pain.
Atrovich is perturbed by the clan's relations to the nearby Maren population. He sees no reason for them to be diplomatic, and thinks the clan should engage the Maren just like every other clan does with most other Beastclans. He keeps himself detached from the full blown politics of the subject, however, preferring to retain a level of comfortable indifference towards something he believes nobody can change.
