Jallem is a male imperial dragon. I bought Jallem from a realm-wide auction on 8/14/17. While being in Reo's Clan Jallem and Unnamed had three hatchlings, who are Delian, Foster, and Chrysalis, who were honorably exalted to the Plaguebringer and the Gladekeeper. Last updated: 1/12/18. Jallem always retells the story about how he became Captain of the Guard. It goes along like this:

There was once a few dragons who wanted to be exalted to the Windsinger who were criminals, but they would not go away to the place where all dragons were exalted. This place was always guarded closely; not any dragon could be exalted, some were very valuable - even some were criminals trying to escape their punishment for stealing something or hurting another dragon badly. Others were more minor dragons that are not named in this lair; but yes, they did have names. A group of three guards were guarding the exalting area.

That was a high-level zone (which meant that no one was allowed to go in it without permission - medium levels meant that only dragons could go and no hatchlings - unless they were very closely supervised, and low levels meant that hatchlings and dragons could go - hatchlings could even be left alone to play together in guarded hatchling areas). Three minor dragons, all thieves, who had stolen Marva's Invisibility cloak and were creeping away suddenly when one of them - Tanzu - sneezed. "You'll make us be found." Rells said, harshly. "Shush. We're almost late." Xaratzal said, who was the largest, using his wings to shield the other two back under the invisibility cloak. "Late? We are so early it is not even the week of the battle between Wind and Lightning." Rells said. "We are exactly four days early-" "WILL YOU SHUT YOUR SNOUT?" Tanzu shouted. "Always the talkative one." Xaratzal said, his eyes rolling. "You always get us in trouble."

The three were making more obvious tracks when they looked back - they had hoped that the exaltation point would be easy to get to and unguarded, and had not even bothered to cover up their tracks. "I think someone's following us." Rells said. "Why are you always so para-" Tanzu started to tell Rells before they all collapsed into a hidden net. The looming face of Jallem looked up at them, the sparkling blue Imperial. "I knew I was right." Rells and Xaratzal said. "HEY! IT'S TANZU'S FAULT! TAKE HIM FOR EXTRA GUARD SERVICE!"

The laws of Randomsevens3's Clan dictated that every criminal must take up extra guard service should they be charged with a crime, helping them actually learn something rather than wasting away their mental stability in prison. There was no prison at all, in fact. Aubin had hated such things, when others discussed it in their meetings. This service would be more grueling than entry-level guards had to go through; criminal dragons were always accompanied by entry-level guards who did exactly as they were told. If criminals excelled in this task, then they would move up if they wished to in the guard system (as they were very good fighters, most of them); if not, they could be accompanied by another guard (a minor dragon, of course) for an amount of time on parole. If the criminal and entry-level guard became friends, Aubin would allow them to be partners. If not, they would be released, and encouraged to not do anything else that was bad.

Jallem drew the net out of the hole that Tanzu, Rells, and Xaratzal had fallen into, hoisted them up, and then took them back to the Clan. They were dealt with accordingly, although Tanzu was given so much guard duty that he could only get five hours of sleep every night, and less comfortable of a place to sleep in than Rells and Xaratzal got. "Since you are so intelligent," Jallem was talking to Rells a day before his guard term ended, "You could always be my personal military library assistant." Why not? Rells thought to himself. He, another Imperial Dragon, loved knowledge - it was only when Tanzu had taken a few of his books and racked up his library fines that he could not go there anymore. Rells tried telling other dragons this, but they did not believe him, as where would he go that Tanzu could be? Where, honestly, would that be?

Later that day, when Rells was done reading (as he always thought about Jallem at least a hundred times a day - he was just so dedicated), he flew back and forth from the library five times to get stacks of books checked out for him - the guard service had eradicated all of his fines and he was able to go there once again. Jallem checked up on him periodically, always quizzing him on the books that he had read (as Jallem, Rells thought, seemed to know loads of things Rells had not even discovered yet).

Rells soon became the most trusted by Jallem (even other higher-up guards and Aubin took notice of him), and whenever anyone asks Jallem how he came by Rells (who is always at two places - by Jallem's side, or reading books that Jallem recommended), Jallem tells them the story of how Rells, Tanzu, and Xaratzal fell into a hole. After a while, Aubin took Jallem aside and they had a conversation - after all, Aubin was over-excited that her plan had worked "extremely well in finding an invaluable scholar." Aubin decided to appoint Jallem as Captain of the Guard because of this, since no one else had yet benefited from her plan before Rells came along and his thirst for knowledge, to find something more fulfilling in his life than being with Tanzu and Xaratzal.

*Minor dragons are termed that because they aren’t in the main lair or the main hibernal den. The clan is against and does not tolerate any discrimination at all. Every dragon is welcomed here and Jallem is normally by the clan entrance gates, watching out for any that might need his help. He always has a supply of free soup should any want that.

Exalting Jallem to the service of the Plaguebringer will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
