MOLOCH
The UNSPOKEN HORROR
Status:
?̸̢͎̥̑̇̊̕?̵̢̃?̵̧̭̤͕̭̻͔̥͊́̍͗̉̅̑

Massive | Hungry | Growing

Grimoire will tell you that she draws her magic from the Plaguebringer. However, this is not actually true. Devotees of the Plaguebringer know that the Great Filthy Mother despises the Undead. Undead are a failure of natural selection - remnants kept alive long after they should have perished. The truth is that Grimoire draws her power from another source - a far more wicked and corrupt source.

Deep in the bowels of the Workshop is a secret chamber, accessible only by Grimoire. Not even her closest acolytes know of its existence. The chamber lies behind a hidden door, concealed by layers of rot and fungus. To enter, Grimoire must conduct a complex ritual that only she knows.

Beyond this door, in an enormous, pitch-black cavern, lies a binding rune drawn in chalk. Imprisoned at the center of this summoning circle is a great, hideous beast - the soul of a massive Emperor. This Emperor, known only as 'Moloch', is the source of Grimoire's power. He was once a Necromancer of enormous skill, rumored to be powerful enough to rival the Dragon Gods themselves. When he died, his spirit became a terrifying poltergeist, roaring destruction across the Wasteland.

Using powerful magic, Grimoire was able to imprison his soul in the body of a hatchling (produced in a ritual mating by
Trauma and Cartilage). The moment Moloch's soul entered the hatchling, it mutated into an Emperor. His new body has been growing in size exponentially since - with no need for food or water. The only thing keeping him contained is Grimoire's summoning circle. She taps into his magic to fuel her own - like a living power generator.

Secretly, Grimoire fears that she cannot contain Moloch's new body forever. He will eventually become too massive and too powerful to imprison. Grimoire has taken major precautions to keep him from escaping, but his escape is still imminent. In the meantime, Grimoire has been frantically researching how to permanently bind the Emperor to her will. Time will tell if Grimoire succeeds or if the Emperor overtakes the Workshop.
