When Ngai was born, the clan's shrine keeper noticed the bright gleam of his eyes and the emerald gleam of his wings, and declared that he had been marked by the Gladekeeper as special, as a sign of favor, given the clan's devotion. Since then, odd things tend to happen around Ngai: plants grow lusher and brighter when he's around, familiars become more attentive and snuggly, food tastes better and stays fresh longer. It's as if he carries with him some portion of the Gladekeeper's essence.

With such gifts, it is right and proper that he himself dedicates himself to the service of the Gladekeeper, as a tender of a sacred garden. A calm, contemplative dragon, Ngai looks forward to having a nice big garden of his own to look after, with a nice big tree in the middle to meditate under.
