When the plague came, Serafina didn't know what to do. A plague isn't something you can fight with claws and teeth and that's how she's always been taught to deal with threats. So, as frustration at her uselessness grew, so too did her hopelessness with the situation. The plague only seemed to grow worse and none of the healers were able to find a way to combat it. Trapped in a den with Acal, she struggled to look on the brightside or even see a brightside to look at. However, Acal was able to distract her and keep her from delving into true despair. Never had she thought she would be so very thankful for him. It was Iceflame's death that turned everything upside down. |

When Ilar came to her and Acal with news of Iceflame falling ill, Serafina watched Acal begin to head towards the hole of despair that she had been in for some time at that point. Hating to see him fall into that pit, she began doing her best to help Acal out of it and to give him hope for the future. She comforted him and tried her best to get him to look on the brightside of things. As long as they had Iceflame around, everything would be fine and Iceflame was strong, she thought, so she'd be able to fight off the plague. However, several days later, when Ilar returned to tell them that Iceflame has died, Serafina saw the last spark of hope that Acal had die as well. As Acal mourned the loss of the dragon he was closest to, she did her best to be there for him and comfort him. When he confessed all his fears and worries regarding the future to her, she promised to be there for him whenever he needed. With that, he asked her to help him lead the clan after the plague vanished and she agreed, stepping up to be his second-in-command. With a new leadership in place after such a devastating plague, the clan will go through many changes and it will be interesting to see where the clan goes from here. |
