"HERA was the Olympian queen of the gods and the goddess of women and marriage. She was also a goddess of the sky and starry heavens."

Hera was the wife of Zeus, who often held contempt for his constantly eyeing other women. She fell in love with him when he disguised himself as a cuckoo bird (sometimes quoted as an eagle) and then revealed his true identity and wooed her. After this, however, Hera became very jealous over the many consorts of Zeus, and is often seen as a spiteful figure in mythology. However, from the other Olympians, she basked in the same amount of reverance as her husband. Famous stories of Hera include the birth of Hephaestus, the judgement of Paris, and the many stories of her persecution of Zeus's lovers. 		img_hera.jpg
