Biography

"It was a rainy day in the Garden of Cosmic Speculation."

It never rained in the Wastes.

Or, at least, it wasn't supposed to be raining in the wastelands of the Abiding Boneyard. And yet, the fat little droplets defied all expectations with their happy little pitter-pat on his Lens. Soaked his cloak and fine feathers, making them droop comically off his frame. Candles snuffed. Offerings soggy.

Miserable.

Sotirios snorted in displeasure, crushing the muddy soil between his claws. As one of the three seers of the clan, he was tasked with the less... obtuse predictions. While Blooded hunted out the missing things in the Universe, and Herodias charted stars in their infinite whirl to foresee the future, Sotirios read the still waters of his Lens to See the current shape of the world.

Which currently looked rippled and muddy.

The midnight imp briefly considered that this had been the missing Tidelord's plan all along - to wash away the Plague's Abiding Boneyard in a flood of unnatural rain. While being incredibly ridiculous (what strategic value would the Boneyard have to any flight other than Plague?), it gave him a small measure of relief.

Can't stop a deity.
Best just forget the whole thing and try again later.

He trotted to a small protected alcove that he usually used to get out of the blistering sun. Sotirios dragged the sodden cloth over his head, draping it on a nearby outcrop to hopefully dry before the day was out. The damp feathers were next, laid out delicately. He then flopped unceremoniously on the bed of dried grass, heaved a sigh and contemplated his options for the day.

The quiet drum of rain was interrupted by a voice the imperial knew all too well.

"YOUR PREDICTIONS ARE CRAP." The high voice echoed from the entrance to his sanctuary, as the royal purple spiral darted in, clawed feet slamming against the floor in punctuation as she landed harshly before the Lens. She paused briefly (so briefly), eyeing the empty spot the seer usually took. Whipping around to his comfy nook, she lanced towards him in a quick succession of loops and curls. Crashing her small frame against the much larger dragon's muzzle, she clutched at the fluff of his eyebrows, tail curling around one of his long whiskers.

"You said the Harpies would take three days to get to Raven's Wood. Three. Days." Her voice had sunk into a low hum. The imperial swallowed. He never liked that voice. "It took them THREE. WEEKS. I had to HIDE in BOGS for THREE WEEKS so Shadow dragons wouldn't find me on their Hallowed Ground. ME. A SHADOW DRAGON."

Sotirios tried to kill the whimper in his throat. Erebus was small, but terrifying. Well, at least she was to him. "Yes, well, Time is a very tricky component," he began, only to be cut off by her small clawed hand slicing through the air.

"Don't care!" Erebus crowed. "I forgive you." She patted the spot between his eyes, a sly twinkle in hers. "The rest of the info was spot on. You owe me, though, for the weeks thing. Say... you let me borrow those books you were going on about last time."

The midnight imperial grinned and nodded. "Of course."

"GOOD. Now, Pandora wants me back out there lickity-split, so give me the best you got, Seer," she chirped dropping from his face to curl up between his folded claws.

Sotirios grimaced and shot a dark look at the drab sky. "I have nothing. All I Saw before the rain so rudely interrupted me was that there is movement in the South."

The spiral shot him a stunned look. "That's it?"

"Yep. Someone is moving to somewhere in the South."

"That is by far the least helpful prophecy to date."

"Yep."

The two sat in silence.

"Have you considered a roof?"
