Her father named her. Her deep colored scales and shadow mane shimmered like the night and her father knew she was going to grow to be an amazing dragon. And in part he was right. One day when she was young she stumbled across a tattered scroll. The writing seemed to glow as her little eyes feasted on the words. When she finished reading it, light exploded from the writing. She winced and opened her eyes. Her eyes began glowing a strange pinkish hue and from then on she could look upon anything and know all its secrets including other dragons.

Yomika walked through the library she had built with the help of the Rhea and Aurora. Her collection was extensive. It spanned from stars above and the near scribbles from the Arcanist's frantic writing to the recipes for the deadliest plagues in the realm. Yomika had it all and she prided herself on her collection. She often flew from lair to lair pilfering and searching for knowledge she had never seen. Her eyes gifted her with more than she ever wanted to know because even the hardest locks seemed to giggle and open when she looked at them. Luckily Yomi was more than happy with her small little escapades into others' lairs and collections to find the eldest scrolls with the old dragons words on it.

She had held onto the scroll that changed her life. The worlds had faded to nothing moments after it changed her life. She glowered at the scroll willing it to tell her everything but it never wrote a word. She screamed in frustration and flew out of her lair. She raced through the skies flying to where a scroll had told her to look. She flew for over half of the night toward the farthest reaches of the known Flights. Animal clan dragons flew below her and screamed their surprise as she twirled above them. She was going to have to fight. Her eyes began to glow and time stood still. She looked at each of the dragons and knew instantly everything she needed to pass through them without even them noticing. she blinked. The dragons rose to her and she screamed out in their language as she fell from the sky.

She landed hard on the top of an alter. The carving above it showed it was to a figure that seemed to be consumed in shade. She didn't want to be there but the scrolls had told her their brother was written in the heart of deep and savage magic. She shuddered as the ground seemed to hum with darkness. She slithered into the hole in front of the alter and braced for the welcome committee. She looked around and let out the breath she had been holding. Nothing, no ominous feeling, no screaming vampires, no angry gods. She shrugged and began down the fully lit tunnel.

She trudged exhausted from the insanely long hall. Her feet stumbled into a massive cavern. She gasped in awe at the scrolls that glowed their own colors. Hundreds of thousands of scrolls lined the wall. All calling to her and laughing out their joy to see someone who might read them. She flitted to the first scroll and beautiful shining blue greeted her eyes. She read the magic behind the Lightning and felt a surge of magic pulse into her heart. The next was one of Water and the words flowed elegantly into her mind welcoming her into the secrets of the depths of the oceans. She closed her eyes and felt as if the world was lifting her above it. With each new scroll her desire to know all grew till after years of reading she lifted the last scroll from its place on the alter. It oozed out a laugh that gripped her heart, tears dripped down her face as she begged it to let her stop reading, it refused. Her eyes glowed and suddenly her heart shattered into a thousand pieces and flew in every direction of the universe. This was the price she had to pay for the knowledge she possessed. The Shade flowed through her body and tenderly kissed every inch of her soul. She screamed in agony writhing in the reckless pain that came with each kiss.

Days past and she opened her eyes tears and blood covered the floor and her body ached more than words. She shoved herself off the ground and looked at the ceiling. What she knew wasn't the beautiful thing she believed it was. Her eyes had been ripped violently open. She had to go home. Rhea would miss her she was sure. She struggled out of the hole she had once so eagerly jumped down. She had brought one scroll with her. It glowed with a beautiful opalescence and she didn't think it deserved to be trapped with the darkness hidden there.

Yomika fell at the large opening to her lair. The newest dragons puffed up thinking she was an invader. Rhea rushed out ready for battle only to find a small shell of her lost child. Rhea scooped Yomika off of the ground she shouted out and the dragons were rushing left and right grabbing salves and clean bedding.

Yomi opened her eyes and this time Rhea was beside her. The massive guardian watched her with eyes full of love and worry. She reached out and touched Rheas front claws.
"I'm sorry I left withou-" Rhea interupted her with a mouth full of amazingly sweet liquid. Her body reached and she gulped greedily at the potion. She finished it and her body seemed to relax. Her muscles gave in and loosened. She sighed with contentment.
"I'm simply glad you are home my little night sky," Rhea patted her head and for the first time Yomika saw deep into Rhea's heart and knew she had seen and felt exactly what she had.

This was her home. It was before she left and would be till the day her great great grandchildren danced through her library.
