For an assassin, Shade is quite kind. He is respectful and loyal to Flora. He came after the takeover, so he knew no leader besides her. He sometimes scares the hatchlings by hiding in the shadows, and then they all have a good laugh. No one could tell he's a trained assassin. The Skydancers only sense his naturally loving and humorous energy, with an undercurrent of darkness that usually accompanies a dark past. However, Shade's dark past is actually his present. He is also on the guard with Mio and Aurae.

Shade's mate is Kyras. She is his world. He has vowed to never tell her about his work as an assassin, lest it drives her away. Shade would rather die a thousand deaths than have Kyras hate him.

He has a small, chipper familiar named Paeka. She's mischievous but sweet, and enjoys jumping out of a hiding spot to surprise someone.

After the Council took over, Shade felt like the world lifted off his shoulders. No more assassin work for him. No keeping anything from Kyras anymore. He was free and happy. Of course, he still continued his guard work proudly. He would protect his fellow dragons no matter what.
