Mio is fiercely protective, though not as ferocious as Aurae. He'll treat you nice and offer you a tasty mix of insects, but if you go anywhere near his stuff without his permission, beware. Anything shiny or valuable on your person will be gone before you can blink. And then you'll find yourself hurtling down the mountainside, wondering why the sky is spinning. Mio and Nova are known as the shiny duo. They are very good friends and often look out for one another.

Mio wanted Nova as his mate, but he was too nervous to ask. He finally got up courage, and he and Nova are now the parents of many hatchlings. The first two are named Kayka and Brilliare. In the chaos after Flora's takeover, Kayka gave herself in service to the Flamecaller.

When Flora first began to take over, Mio didn't mind. It couldn't be that bad. A few rules would be a refreshing change. However, Mio's views changed after Kayka was exalted. He blames Flora for cutting his daughter's time with the clan short. It doesn't help that Brilliare barely knew what to do with herself now that her sister was gone. Mio is comforted by the fact that Kayka and Brilliare were only his and Nova's first children, and there would be many more. That is, if Flora decided to allow it. Eventually, she did allow it. Mio and Nova are the parents of many more hatchlings.

Mio's familiar is a solemn elk named Vera. She is quiet and shy towards everyone except Nova's familiar, Siero. The pair of familiars stay close together, as their owners do.
