CALIGO Walking Curse Festival Organizer Pulled out from his late father's body as Shadetouched splinters bound by blood magic alongside his lost younger sisters. Sometimes, when he moves, his horn and belly seem to disappear entirely, as if they were made of liquid metal. His pearl will also turn pitch-black when he loses control of his magic, often infused with the very Shade that embodies his poor soul. Caligo was a difficult hatchling to work with in his clan's nursery from the day he was found tumbling around his new home with a sickly and weakened appearance, and while he had certainly found a much better luck and treatment in the Galesweeper Tribe (considering many dragons here do not really care about appearances; It's actions that matter most), he still has emotional and self-worth issues to tackle given the knowledge that he is nothing short of an affront to all of dragonkind's bloodlines. The eventual discovery of his lineage makes him resent himself further, and if he ever could, he'd want no involvement with it. The only relative of his bloodline that he considers family anymore is Gyges, a Nocturne dragon who herself disapproves of her mother's lifestyle (despite being quiet about it). He will do everything in his power to ensure who he calls his half-sister safe, even if he knows that she could more than not take care of things on her own. Caligo manages flight festivals with his fellow Holiday Council members, himself being gifted festival bounties from the second and third Riot of Rot. His Deadline Disciple, who he named Willow almost always accompanies him wherever he goes. Some dragons may grow wary of him as he begins to display more characteristics fitting of a Shade being. However, Caligo chooses not to give in to the abominable nature of his kind, but rather, remain loyal to the clan that has taken him in. He has now found a mate of his own-- Umbree. They share a bond over many things, but they are united by the fact that they prove many dragons wrong about the curse they carry. DRAGON SUBSPECIES Rebelshade Shade-beings who take the form of dragons or dragons cursed by their afflictions, but instead of carrying out the will of their kind, they have developed resistance against their abominable nature, and thus choose to use the elements given to other dragons. Rebelshade dragons often avoid association with the Shade at all costs, choosing to favor the Eleven, their clans, go solo, or in rare cases even align with those of the Beastclans. The Rebelshade dragons may take on any elemental affinity, color, species and gene combinations, but Pearlcatcher dragons within black-ranged colors and striking, sparkling genes are the most abundant among this subspecies. Any dragon can produce Rebelshade offspring for as long as one of the paired mates is a Rebelshade dragon themselves.
