Asoka

[SOME TIME AGO]
Asoka is a dignified, well-mannered and pleasant dragon. He used to be a hard-working knight of the royal guard, well-respected for his prowess, elegance, and honor. However, he eventually retired - he felt the shame of some of the things he was required to do strongly, and finally hung up his sword after years of service. He was dismissed from the guard with high honors and great respect.

In his more normal life now, he remains private and introverted, preferring to keep to himself and his home with Cinderdust, his mate. In social interactions he is pleasant, very polite, and civil, but one can usually tell that he would rather be at home with his books or quill pen, in a comfy chair next to the fire, than he would be talking.

Though he has officially retired, Asoka would still answer a call to action voluntarily if the need arose, and he found the cause worthy. Even if the dragon left the life of battle, he is still a knight at heart, and will behave accordingly.

His familiar is a long-time "sidekick" of his, always at his right hand and eager to aid him in battle or other more everyday matters. The Cloud Chaser has stuck by his side for years and continues to serve him loyally even in their dual retirement.

Cinderdust is Asoka's one true love, and he would do anything for her sake. He admires and appreciates her hard-working and unbreakable spirit, and her no-nonsense presence helps him to find the courage to put his foot down when the time comes. Otherwise, Asoka would no doubt be everyone's doormat, and perhaps still in a military he no longer believed in.

[PRESENT DAY]
As time moved on and the clan evolved, Asoka re-entered the guard of the Firelight clan with his mate. They and Banner are responsible for the protection of the Firelight dragons, and he and Asoka command massive influence and respect due to their experience, age, and reputation. As time passed, the ideals he believed in gradually returned to the guardship. Asoka now bears the banner of the High Guard with great pride, and stands at their forefront as one of their champions. He and Cinderdust both strive to embody the traits they believe in, and hope to ensure that their position never returns to one of laziness, corruption, and disrepair.

ADDENDUM, 26/08/17: Though the clan had once planned to move to the ocean kingdom of Water several months ago, the clan leaders grew indecisive as the logistics of moving became apparent. Uprooting the entire clan was a decision not to be taken lightly, and Asoka especially in his experience was hesitant. However, not moving at all was no longer an option; now that the notion had become so deeply set in the clan's collective spirit, something would have to be done to satisfy it. When the Flameforgers Festival came round again, his mate, Cinderdust, suddenly expressed a longing to return to her ancestral home. Asoka, looking out for her and keeping the clan's needs in mind, proposed a move to Fire instead. Trick accepted, and many of the older clan members were willing to join in as well because of the warriors' prominence. The decision, however, has caused its fair share of divide among the younger members - and it has clearly upset Dolphin most of all.
