Biography
I know. They call me a volatile, temperamental dragon. Quiet for days, and then furious that no-one listens to me. Alternately terrified of nothing in particular and recklessly fearless. I'm scared to go outside my cavern without my mate, Galantha - though she quite often leaves it unaccompanied.
I prefer the company of Shard, the snow streak I call familiar. When the bird is at rest, I can fit comfortably on her chestpiece, hanging upside-down from it and snoozing as she preens.
Shard was a gift, given to me by Galantha, who restored her to life with careful ministrations of Arcane-tainted snow and strange, twisted metal. Although Shard occasionally emits strange sounds from her metal skull, which seem to surprise even herself, she appears to be a fully-functioning bird.
I've met other dragons with gembond, and their symptoms aren't as bad as mine, except perhaps Nesh. What's wrong with me? Am I weak? I want to learn more about my own disease. I study onyx cobras in the hope of understanding why it exists and how it functions. I know my mate has her own important work to be getting on with, but I wish she'd help me.
Since the recent mushroom incursion, I've taken to studying them. They light up our home, but they're becoming a serious issue. It wasn't by choice - dragons just assumed. I'm from Shadow, so I must know about mushrooms, right? All I knew before this mess spread was which ones were safe to eat.
I can't do this alone. I've been too specialised and too secluded for too long. I've been told Safira might be able to help, but I've never spoken to her before...
