Delphi is a female Wildclaw from the Tangled Wood. She often dresses in elaborately patterned and many-layered outfits, rather well considering her primary occupation of keeping the clan's graves. |
Coming from unnamed parents, Delphi’s past is quite the mystery. Out of everyone, it was Ghost that ended up buying her and bringing her to the clan, loving her midnight color. But even then, she was already starting to act strange. She always tended to avoid the light, though the light itself didn’t actually affect her. And even though she wasn’t a Plague dragon, she was obsessed with death and bones. This carried on to her adult life, where she started experimenting with her Shadow magic. However, while trying to dabble with Plague magic, it backfired severely and disfigured her for life. It stripped holes in her wings, and scarred her face, to the point where her skull is now showing through her skin. The wings don’t bother her, but occasionally her face will pain her, and the skin around where her skull is showing will get irritated. Jay helps with that with salves, and gives them to her as needed. She wears bandages over her face most of the time, though truth be told, she rather like how it looks on her. She feels that she’s closer to the dead, and understanding what they can tell her. Delphi both tends to the Windcurrent Clan’s grave, and she can tell fortunes using bones and animal entrails. Using her Shadow magic, she’s able to converse with the dead to further predict futures and foretell prophecies. She collects and hoards bones of all shapes and sizes, and species. As for the entrails, she often goes to where the meat is stored, taking a few of the kills back to her den to use the entrails for her fortune telling. The meat she has no use for, and will return kills back to the hoard so that the meat can be prepared for the rest of the clan. Despite her scary appearance, and macabre job, Delphi is actually rather kind. She’s more than willing to explain her job to others, and will predict futures for whoever asks. She doesn’t charge, especially for the clan. Knowing that her appearance scares others, she often keeps to herself, staying right on the edge of the clan’s borders, where the graveyard is. Her main visitor is Ghost, who cares for her when her wounds get too bad. He’s the only one who’s not afraid to approach her at all, having been the one to bring her into the clan. Delphi wishes she could be closer to the clan, if only because she feels lonely being away from everyone. Yet, at the same time, she doesn’t mind the solitude.
