| After plague prince Mihailov's coup d'ètat everyone knew that druidess Glowyna, seen sympathetic to matriarch Arivia's cause, had traded her loyalty in exchange for keeping her family safe from the plague prince's forces. Thus it was found out that not only had Glowyna produced offspring under the matriarch's strict rules that denied mating outside her own jurisdiction, Glowyna had taken the Clan's castellan, Hyrael, as her lover and partner-in-crime while having several affairs out of the Clan. Silos was the result of one of these affairs, and is terribly proud of it. Not only does he regard himself as one of his mother's favourite children, he enjoys the thought that he was born out of rebellion - he's certain it is the reason why in his own life he takes most pleasure from breaking the rules. While Glowyna left the Court with most of her family, including her wards and even Hyrael, who was reluctant to leave civilization, no matter how it was tarried with blood, Silos decided that the newly established Court was exactly where he should stay. No one saw a reason to drive him away, after all his mother was always liked by most dragons on both sides of the coup. Silos' magical powers are formidable, and his talents were noticed by the leader of the Dream Guards, Unia. Despite being sceptical if he could follow her orders, Unia nevertheless took Silos through the needed training and was taken by surprise at his aptitude for entering and managing himself in the Current. He was officially named a Dream Guard once his talent for dreamweaving was found out. As a Dream Guard, he is responsible for mending the wounds that nightmares rip open in a dragon's mind; he weaves new, better dreams for them and strengthens the Current with his powers. His anchor is the Darksteel Amulet. |
| . Despite having given the official title of a Dream Guard, Silos is probably the most unreliable member of his team. He does what he wants 60% of the time, and doesn't adhere to Unia's every order. Thankfully Silos is great at what he does, or he'd have been booted out of the group very fast. Out of his fellow Dream Guards, Tidus is the one who Silos looks up to - his job as the Nightmare Warrior is something that Silos would want to do. If it is up to Tidus, however, Silos will probably never see a greater responsibility than what he already has, as in the eyes of the skydancer, he's already a liability. Tidus says that it's only a matter of time when Silos finally understands that the Current is not a thing to be taken lightly. Silos has a special talent on getting on Malacath's nerves, who, as the Nightmare Shepard, does a far more dangerous job out of the two and thus is at the greater risk of getting the bad end of the stick once Silos gets a new idea while they're in the Current. Silos has yet to take seriously the multiple after-Current wrestlings the guardian instigates, which Mal always wins by sitting on top of him until he yields and promises not to disobey Unia again - which, of course, he'll still end up doing most of the time. With Shyla, Silos is like the annoying big brother no one would want to have. The two get into arguments at a nearly constant pace, and bring out the worst in each other. Silos is secretly very fond of Shyla and would go to great lengths for her sake, but he's angry at her silver spoon-treatment by princess Zamirav and her close relations to the crown. |
|
. Another sibling from another mating, Aurdun is Silos' closest friend in the Court. Dubbed as his "freedom fighting brother", Aurdun and Silos see eye-to-eye on who is the rightful heir to the crown. In their eyes, princess Zamirav has no legal standing to be ruling in the Court, and instead they both support Niria, matriarch Arivia's only remaining daughter, as the rightful heir. While Aurdun and Silos come together to talk about politics, they never miss a chance to have some fun as well. There's always some sort of prank Aurdun plans and Silos takes into fruitition, and they're not a rare sight in large gatherings, being loud and fun pair to be around with, if it's the sort of company you're looking for. |
. While being Aurdun's closest friend, Silos hasn't left his sister Dakia unnoticed. The Court's most prized member, Dakia is an enigmatic if cold and blunt personality - but Silos has always enjoyed challenges. He casts all fear and doubt away when he enters her study, and his energetic presence is sure to gain a few favourable looks from her which certainly could turn into smiles any passing day now if you ask Silos. He is persistant in his pursues for her attention, and is one of the only dragons outside Dakia's immediate family that the Starborn allows to remain around her. It was Dakia who gave him the jewel he keeps as his anchor, and it is Silos' most priced possession. It's unknown if even Silos himself is aware if it's her affections that he's after, but he does feel a pang of jealousy whenever he sees Haykel entering Dakia's quarters late at night. He is prone to meddle with the ridgeback's dreams whenever he feels particularly irritated by him. |
. Silos' only remaining family member in the Court is Graala, who stayed with her mender's duties even after Mihailov's coup d'ètat. It is obvious to Silos that Graala finds his presence troubling to say the least, and has understood that it's due to his father's identity. Graala upholds Glowyna's and Hyrael's relationship above others, and Silos has noticed her obvious battle to behave well and keep close ties with him. Silos tries to push her attitude problems at the back of his head and instead enjoys the time spent with his nephew, Sherekh. |
Silos is witty, sharp and oblivious to rules and regulations. If you tell him not to do something, there'll be a high chance he'll do just that. Why? Because rules are meant to be broken! "A little anarchy never hurt anyone", he'll tell anyone questioning his motives. Naturally it's not the sort of behaviour that you'd like to flaunt in a Court that was established on the ashes of a succesful and bloody coup d'ètat, but as long as Silos keeps up his reputation of being utterly harmless, he's most likely able to get away with it. Plus no one could deny that he isn't one of the funniest and liveliest dragons in the Court, cheering up any boring gathering with his presence - sometimes a tad too obnoxiously, but they guess it comes with the deal.
