Zephyr is an odd balance of her parents, earning her fair share of Antheia's calm, commanding fortitude and Salazar's wary, distant demeanor. The result is an independent and carefully calculating dragon who earns respect.
From her hatching, Zephyr and her siblings were not coddled. It is not in the nature of their parents to coddle, and so they formed on their own, influenced by the land they were hatched in, the hard obsidian and lava flows of the Ashfall Waste. They decided from a young age that they would be separate from their parents, but Zephyr especially; self-named after the wind, she yearns to fly beyond the reaches of the Waste.
She stretched her wings and flew well before she was grown, until the wind was no longer hot beneath her wings and cooling storms split the air around her - it was lightning that forced her to land, the cold water making her wings ache. As many wanderers in Tempest Spire who find themselves lost, small, and alone, she was passed hand to hand into the 'Nanny' clan... Cairne took her under wing, and sent word and warrior both back to the clan she had come from, exchanging kin for kin and a chance to help her find her place.
She seems to have settled into apprenticeship with Coriolinus, warming unusually quickly to the gruff, large imperial who makes armor for the Dawnguard and Duskguard of the clan.
After a time serving as his apprentice she began to experiment on her own, beginning to craft swords instead of armor, outfitting the clan with handsome weapons and hoping they would not turn them against each other. She kept the first sword she ever successfully made as her own.
