LOOKING FOR WILD CLAWS TO BUY
gyldensterne's Clan
This is my design.
Clan Info
Cairne founded the clan in order to gather together those that sought to improve the future. However, it has become a kind of catch all for wanderers. He never turns away any who seek to join, though at times it makes his job far more difficult...
Originally formed by the clanleader, Cairne, to accept and raise outcasts and misfit hatchlings, in the hopes of helping them find their true place in life, clan Cairne has slowly grown, acquired more territory, and become one of the venerable lairs in Tempest Spire. Cairne is fairly nondescriminating in what he accepts, though violent dragons tend to find themselves outnumbered by the rest of the clan - ranging from level headed and hard working to outright ridiculous. Cairne himself works individually in the rearing of hatchlings and tries to foster a sense of family in his foundlings. Unfortunately, his narrow focus of devotion and loose clan acceptance policies have led to a sort of division in the rest of the clan...
First up there is the Dawnguard, a subsect of gold and gleaming dragons (mostly pearlcatchers) that have taken it upon themselves to oversee and guard the clan's territory in the hours when the sun is up. Originally a sort of loose band of friendly wanderers, the younger members of the Dawnguard have taken a fierce pride in what they do and now seek to ward off any intruders rather than welcome them in as has been the clan's policy in the past. Previously, these warriors would guard the clan's hatchlings, but as recently the clan has stopped reproducing, they find themselves aimless and frustrated. The Dawnguard believe that they know what new direction the clan should go and struggle to recruit as many of the members to their cause of overthrowing leadership and casting out the Duskguard as they can on the sly. They have seduced away Cairne's granddaughter and the most probable candidate for leading the Clan in event of his absence...
The Duskguard is a band of black and shadow-hided warriors, mostly imps, who have taken watching over the clan at night as their duty. They are all by nature night owls, and their fundamental views are nearly diametrically opposed to those of the Dawnguard. They believe in keeping to the old ways, and as nearly all of them are foundlings and rescues themselves they believe the clan's doors should be kept open to new members. They tend to be more humble than the Dawnguard, but are still warriors. They have nominated their erstwhile leader and champion as Atticus, one of the oldest members of the clan and arguably Cairne's most trusted friend - for better or for worse, really.
There have been several skirmishes, but Cairne fails to see how deep the division is.
