- - - ▢ The Fairy Queen of Night
How can a tiny fae manage a rowdy clan of thieves and outsiders? They’ll tell you that she inspires them. Her strong devotion to Shadowbinder, is unrivaled by dragons far and wide.
Laverna is a clever wyrm, much like her patron. She loves to barter with other clans, always ensuring that Swampflock gets the better part of the deal. Her morality system is solely based on what is best for her Clan.
Laverna feels a strong empathy for runaways and exiles. She welcomes them into her Clan, teaching them to use the darkest parts of their mind and soul to their advantage.
Her secret wish is to one day become the Night Phoenix, a messenger of the Shadowbinder that she sees in her dreams. Whether this creature is real or not is irrelevant- the Swampflock dwells in a twilight in between dreams and reality, for all of eternity.

- - - - ▢ Megalomania
Laverna is more than her generosity. Her soul is dark and tainted, even as her sweetness in sincere. No one knows where she came from, or what happened to her before she started a Clan with Remiel.
What is known by those closest to her is that she hates the world. Her heart is only open to those she considers "her people", the ones she sees herself in. Sornieth is bad, is scarred, is broken. It will take the Night Phoenix to make it better again, she believes.
It is not easy to earn her trust. While she is open to letting outcast dragons join her Clan, they must prove themselves in order to stay there. Most of all, they must prove that they are loyal to the Shadowbinder.

- - - - ▢ A Dark Dream
The dragons of Swampflock believe that their Clan is a sancturary. In their minds, the mission of the Clan is to honor the Shadowbinder and help those whose clans have turned them away. This is true, but it isn't the whole truth. Everything Laverna does, she does in an effort bring about the coming of the Night Phoenix.
Since she believes the Phoenix sleeps within her, her goal is to find out how to awaken it. She and her dragons must honor Shadowbinder as much as possible, research the strongest and most secret Shadow magics, and offer up lots dragons and hatchlings. Only then will the answers come. Only then will the Phoenix rise and the shadows fall.
