And Mio was right. Kandel was not happy. It was bad enough that Mio's wingspan had gotten bigger than her own - but Kandel couldn't complain too much, since the Guardian was nearly two weeks older than her.

But this upstart runt? Two months younger than her, and she had a wider wingspan than her, the Queen of Bones?

If that wasn't bad enough, the Arcane Ridgeback who called herself Eta Piscium didn't even seem to care. Kandel was furious. If this newer Ridgeback was going to have something more impressive than her elder, then she should at least lord it over her!

Eta Piscium was a quiet sort. She never rose her voice over a calm murmur. And yet everyone listened to her when she spoke. Those glorious wings, her pride and joy, made everyone look.

And with a sly smirk, while Kandel was within earshot, you might even hear Eta Piscium call herself the Queen of Cosmos, just to get a reaction.
