Biography
Philippa | Damsel in distress | Lawful good | Sixty-fifth
Mate to: Yawanuri (suspected)
Awakened Familiars: Butter Caiman, Swift Lumen, Sprouting Goblin, Traveling Garden, Petalwing Peryton, Teleporting Planesrunner, Formal Tea Set, Locomoting Lilypad
Other Notes: Purchased for 600g (Pearlcatcher/Ripple/Spinner/Glimmer)
Philippa is a refugee in the clan, having escaped the capture and probable enslavement that befell the rest of her native clan in the Viridian Labyrinth. Rook was the first one to find her, road-weary and frantic, on the edge of the territory, and Hecuba went to great pains to secure and disguise the little dragon when she realized that the Pearlcatcher was still being actively pursued. Philippa's name was once Coast, and she was loathe to give it up, believing that it is crucial to her identity and would be a sin to forsake it. She'll still answer to the name.
Philippa is hidden and safe now, but she is still shy and prone to over-excitement... and she's a baby. She was the daughter of her last clan's leader, and is accustomed to being catered to, much to the annoyance of her new clanmates. Prissy and delicate, she doesn't like to get her claws dirty, and she treats the "plague rats" (her words) such as Shoga, Whistler, and Salem with complete revulsion, which has led to some awkward encounters, especially considering Salem is the resident healer. The one plague dragon Philippa will tolerate, though, is Silas, who eerily managed to charm her with his cadence and mannerisms. She usually spends her time in Cortessa's tea house, gossiping with Aster.
Philippa also usually proves to be a bit of a tagalong, over-interested in what the other dragons are doing and generally just getting in the way. Early on, she took a particular liking to Yawanuri (much to the irritation of his apprentice, Mestra), and has glommed onto him ever since, always vying for his attention and popping up at random times to ask for his guidance. Though her magical skills are limited at best, Yawanuri doesn't have the heart to turn her away, and so he and Philippa can often be seen spending time together in the library, her excited, flutey voice always a little too loud.
