Shade-Touched Spellcaster
As one of the many warriors and mages that rose to fight the Emperors when they attacked, Aurum fell beneath their wicked claws and terrible fangs. While her wounds weren't the end of her, she succumbed to the same Shade sickness that had infected so many others in the clan, tainting her mind and her magic. Her wounds healed with time, but her soul did not. The gilded matriarch of the broken Light clan couldn't bear to see one of her close attendants suffer so greatly, and with a heavy heart she began searching for a clan that could heal Aurum in ways that her clan's few healers could not. It hurt Ulli to send her loyal friend away, but staying in a decimated clan wrought with sickness and death was not an option for one so heavily damaged. The matriarch dressed the tainted sorcerer with luxurious robes and gilded embroidery, and brushed and tamed her hair until it shimmered like beaten gold in the sunlight. If she had to leave the clan that had sheltered and nurtured her for so long, Ulli would make sure she found an equally welcoming home for her friend. |

Adapting was not easy, but still Aurum managed. She arrived safely, she settled down on the Lair, and slowly, she healed. Soon enough a cheerful Coatl approached, friendly, smiling and sparkling under the pink lights of the Observatory. He was friendly, he was not scared of her tainted magic, and most importantly, he was company in this lonely new home. His insistence in being friendly led to her developing a fondness for him. Soon they were friends, and the more her magic healed, the safer she felt in forming a bond with him. Within one year, she had confidence enough in herself to call him her Mate.
