The last thing that Marx ever wanted was to be stuck playing babysitter to hatchlings that wandered far too close to his studies, and yet, his fate as such is sealed. In spite of his annoyance with their meddling, he understands their enthusiasm all to well. Ever since Marx had hatched from his own egg, he'd found a certain fascination with magic. His parents, who he admittedly had never grown very fond of, did not seem to share his overwhelming interest in his studies.

In order to escape the academic barriers of his home, Marx set out to travel Sornieth, eager to learn new things and expand his skills beyond what anyone fathomed he could do. He would never be able to tell you what brought him to Vitania in particular, especially in the days it had been a fire settlement. After all, his fascination was with nature magic, and there was little significant flora in the Ashfall Waste.

To this day, Marx takes it upon himself to help train beginner mages, but tries his best to remain unattached for fear of losing them. In regards to the latter, he does not succeed.
