Biography

Melchiah
Very busy engineer and part-time Lightning representative
One of the friendliest dragons in the lair, most definitely. Melchiah stands out among other dragons in the lair for its great interest in science and engineering, along with a deep and unshakeable love for his native land, the Carrion Canyon. He lived for a long time in almost complete solitude, which is the main reason why he's always eager to chat with any dragon who approaches him. It's not hard at all to befriend him: he might have a small tendency to overshare, but he's very friendly and pays close attention to the dragons around him and their lives. His sociable and open attitudes made him one of the most liked representatives in the lair, and it might be part of the reason why he quickly became a representative for his Flight.
Melchiah's ambition is among the greatest of all the dragons in the lair, and it was blatant from the first time he landed in the Clan's territory. His goals are always very far-fetched and seem closer to an utopic dream than reasonable objectives, but Melchiah takes every single one of them very seriously - whether it's about creating woods in the Shifting Expanse or rivers in the Ashfall waste, he doesn't hesitate to get to work on some projects to make it possible. This attitude of his is often taken as a huge inspiration for most of the other dragons.
While he seems to have such a positive and optimistic impact on others, however, Melchiah is also a very cautious dragon with a deep hatred for uncertainty. There's no such thing as a perfect machine completely devoid of unfavorable variables while in the making, but Melchiah always works ten times as hard to make sure that none of his projects are remotely dangerous or unsafe. He likes to dream big, but he would never do so without considering the health and safety of everyone else.

Born in the Shifting Expanse, Melchiah spent most of his youth alone, wandering in the desert.
The lack of company during his childhood was mostly because of very bad luck. He was separated from his native clan as a hatchling during a storm while they were moving to a different territory, then he spent a very short time with a pack of Mirrors, and then stayed for a short while in a lair in the Carrion Canyon. Melchiah learned as much as he could from his encounters with other dragons there, and always hoped to be able to find his own place someday, but he was never able to settle anywhere for long - always for reasons beyond his control.
Later on, as a young adult, Melchiah encountered Caturia during one of her many travels. The two got to know each other better, and Caturia talked about her lair in the Starwood Strand: the dragons living there, the changes that have been happening with the new four Guardian leaders, and the need for their Clan to reorganize the roles and duties of everyone. As Melchiah heard those stories, something sparked inside of him, and he decided to follow Caturia back home.
When he arrived, Melchiah immediately stood out - he was one of the very few Lightning dragons there, and he stood out among them for his skills with machines and constructs. Sheol in particular insisted so that he could stay in the lair for longer and help reinforcing the structure of the Clan.
As time went by, Melchiah felt more and more at home. He could easily get along with most of the other dragons there, and felt glad whenever he could offer easy and useful solutions to a variety of problems. For the first time in his life, Melchiah felt that he really had found his rightful place, and he was determined to make things work. After so many years spent wandering, he felt the need to be with his own Clan. This wish alone was what made him stay strong even during the crisis of the Quadrumviratum, the rise of Fereneel to power, and the move to the Ashfall Waste.
His positive influence to everyone around him and his faithfulness to the Clan made Melchiah earn the title of Lightning representative.
