Nyx has been with the clan since the earlier days, joining merely weeks after it was founded.
After Loturias, the original matriarch of the clan, stepped down from her position due to personal reasons, Nyx was chosen as the new matriarch.

Together with her two friends Aria and Bahamut, Nyx was the first dragon of the clan to successfully finish her training. Due to her experience with the monsters roaming the lands, Nyx has later taken on the role of the training overseer. She occasionally joins the younger dragons on their battle trips, yet her liabilities to the clan mostly require her to stay near the lair.

Personality:

Nyx is gentle and forgiving, trying to always be righteous. She supports her mate and the members of her clan in any way possible, sometimes to a point where she is neglecting her own well-being for the sake of others. Nyx is very emotional and is not ashamed to let others know how she feels.

On the other hand, however, Nyx can also become quite agitated and hissy if the load on her shoulders becomes too much for her to properly handle or if something stresses her out emotionally.

Backstory/ Familiar:

Having an own family with her mate had always been one of Nyx' biggest wishes. She lovingly took care of her children from her first and second clutch until they had grown into fine adults, ready to find clans of their own. It pained Nyx to let them go, but she knew they could always return to the clan or visit to reassure their mother that they were doing just fine.

What absolutely shattered this perfect world for Nyx was a horrible sickness that befell her and the eggs of her third clutch. Kuja immediately sent out members of the clan to find a healer, which lead to the Wildclaw known as Phantom to join the clan. While the plague dragon was able to save the matriarch´s life, he could not find a way to save the eggs.

Nyx has held a deep grudge against plague dragons ever since. Whether because she saw them as the reason for spreading sickness throughout the land or because the so-called “survivalist experts” couldn´t find a way to save her eggs is unknown to even her mate.

She never dared to have another clutch of eggs after this incident, too heartbroken and scared to possibly lose them yet again. At the same time, however, she yearned after another child to raise and care about.

What happened a few months after that is often referred to as Arcanist´s blessing by the clan members: On one of her walks through the Starwood Strand, Nyx found a small, male harpy child trying to hide beneath the dried branches and leaves. The young one didn´t remember where he came from, having gotten caught in a storm that caused him to be stranded in the arcane territory. Knowing that the little one would hardly stand a chance to survive with all the monsters roaming around in these woods, Nyx took him with her to raise him like her own son. She gave him the name Aakesh, meaning “Lord of the sky”, which the harpy takes great pride in. Aakesh has grown very close to the Spiral and barely ever leaves his adoptive mother´s side anymore.
