Dysmas - Artist

Personality:

Dysmas is usually very lighthearted. He likes to gently tease everyone around him, and he never really means any of it. He just likes to softly rile people up a little is all. He's very loving and easy to get along with. He's always down for a cuddle pile and is basically a big cinnamon roll. He gets along with almost everyone in the entire clan, and was one of the first children after Asra to choose to stay in the clan. Dysmas is a little spacey at times and often forgets things. There will be times when he doesn't come out his caves for days and someone has to go prod food at him to remind him to eat. Others don't usually mind though because Dysmas will always offer to share and pleasantly converse for a little while. He's got a good heart.

History:

Dysmas grew up with a wonderful childhood, getting underfoot in his father's forge and learning all about fire safety. Lots of dragons came in to warm themselves and so he forged good relationships with everyone. They thought the little coatl that hung off his father's back was adorable and he profited from that as often as possible, preening under the attention.

Despite his parents almost casual relationship, Dysmas never felt unloved. He dearly loves both his parents still, and tries to talk with them as often as possible. He went along with his mother, Llinos, and learned how the funds of the clan were handled, and he followed his father and learned how to forge little things. But neither of his parents occupations really captured his interest. Well, Crimson's captured his eye slightly more because it created something.

He decided pretty young that he was going to be an artist, and 'borrowed' parchment from Smoke and Viserys to smear colour across. They didn't mind too much, and his parents proudly displayed his artwork on the walls of the caves as often as possible. He showed his best friend, Kanchana, who he'd pretty much grown up with, proudly.

Eventually he grew into adulthood, still creating art and improving. He fell in love with his childhood friend and they got together. For a while at least. They were actually together for a long while and had multiple children together. Some who went on to serve the deities and others who simply moved on to make their own paths and join their own clans. Dysmas loved each one fiercely. Still, it did get to the point where Dysmas and Kanchana really made better friends than lovers. The partnership dissolved fairly mutually and both dragons moved on pretty quickly.

Llinos and Crimson broke up around this time as well. Dysmas was introduced to Llinos's new young mate, Lief, who looked at Dysmas's mother like she hung the stars in the sky. He liked the guy, even if he was pretty young. As a gift to his new son-in-law, Lief almost shyly offered Dysmas a necklace that the Jeweler had made. Dysmas accepted it joyfully and wears it around all the time.

Kanchana grew infatuated with another Coatl, Cynere, who stuck around for a while but ultimately left. Dysmas himself fell head over heels for a young Skydancer who was exploring and was visiting the clan. Her name was Ihipa and he was struck. He courted her with various pieces of artwork which she adored. She agreed to stay and the two petitioned Castemere who accepted easily enough.

He loves her fiercely. A different kind of love from the comfortable warmth he shared with Kanchana, but it's love nonetheless. He's prepared to face the future with her, both of them together.
