Approaching the entrance to the main glade will bring a visitor to encounter an patch of brush covering the opening that seems to breathe. Any attempts to move it will reveal the dragon whose shoulders the boughs sit upon, and a swampy, bearded head laced with vines and little strings of roots will rise from the tall grass. The Marchwarden is not overly large, being half-fae, but his voice is as deep as the rumbling of stone on the earth, and his talons are kept needle-sharp and polished.

In effort to frighten off potential threats, Ward levels a glare to anyone who stands long enough to meet his gaze, and if the look is returned, his warning growl rattles in the hollow of the chest. Anyone coming on friendly terms is examined shortly by the same low glare, and the forest shifts as he lifts his body to allow entrance to the covered path that leads to the glade. Birds scatter from the branches of the brush, and perhaps a squirrel or two skitters across the grass further behind the tree line.

He doesn't seem to speak much, but those who knew him as a yearling say he always had a story to tell. As the main Gatekeeper he rarely leaves his post, but any who linger with him may hear a tale or two, or catch him speaking to the various forest creatures that settle around him. He enjoys company if one is willing to provide it, even if it is spent simply in silent presence of one another. He is not much of an excellent keeper of one's secrets, as he can hardly keep things to himself, but if one seeks quiet companionship with no questions asked or pressure to speak, there is always an open bough or patch of grass.
