Like many of the clan’s Wildclaws DiSol came from nothing and was forged anew into what he now is. He was born a guardian abandoned by his birth clan at the bottom of the Plateau and was found by Nadalin who heard his cries. She raised him, as she still had that amount of free time, and trained him in his nature and helped his find his true form. As a wildclaw DiSol met the love of his life Mali, a powerful healer. By then DiSol was a warrior and had fought in many battles, even attacking and killing some beastclan and even other dragons. He was a dangerous dragon and thought a kind dragon like Mali shouldn’t have anything to do with him. Mali thought he shouldn’t make decisions for her and fell in love with him anyway. DiSol did try and convince her otherwise that their union was not the best idea but she was stubborn and didn’t listen. And thus DiSol was forced to be very very happy with his mate. They were happy for a long time. DiSol led the scouting legion of the Windborne and Mali became the clan’s main healer, able to cure any disease or plague. She didn’t care that he was dangerous and loved him for the heart he had and not the violence he portrayed. Then, one day, Mali went out on an expedition to track down a rare flower in the Viridian Labyrinth to find a cure for an aggressive form of gembond and she never returned. DiSol waited for months for her to return but she never did. Eventually he begged off and went to the Labyrinth to find what had become of his mate. He did not find her and no clans in the Labyrinth had seen her, or if they had their help led him to dead ends or empty wilderness. Mali was gone. Deeply depressed DiSol stayed in the Labyrinth, determined to find her, and lost without her in his life. Where DiSol went the shadows grew long and the jungle unkind and seemed to fill with horrible creatures. The Shade encroached upon him, sensing his desire to be at his end, to expire and to have the strength to go on without his Mali. Before the Shade could find him DiSol was saved. He fell asleep in a glade and when he woke was greeted by the sight of a perfect pink flower. Before his eyes it bloomed into a Nature Sprite. The sprite looked up at him and the first thing is said was ‘DiSol?’ in Mali’s voice. The Labyrinth had claimed Mali the dragon but the Gladekeeper was not a cruel goddess like some of her sisters. She had seen DiSol’s struggle with both himself and giving in to the creeping Shade and given him a gift. As Mali had died within her domain her soul rested with the Gladekeeper. She allowed Mali to be reborn as a Nature elemental in the form of a Sprite, to be with DiSol once more. Once DiSol understood the gift he’d been given it was like he’d been given new life himself. Mali had returned to him, not in the same way she had been before but who she was was still there. The Shade had nothing to offer DiSol with Mali back with him and retreated back into the shadows, knowing they had lost another to the dragon gods. DiSol returned with Mali back to the Caravan where he was welcomed warmly. He had been gone a long time himself and his clan mates had worried. They were thrilled by the news that while Mali as a dragon was gone, she lived on still. When DiSol returned he resumed his position as Commander of the scouting legion, with Mali always at his side. And he is very very happy once again.n keeps VoChun around to watch Nadalin’s back when he isn’t around. |
