Biography

As a young dragon Dylan had a terrible accident that cost her her front left leg. For years she suffered without its use. During this time, growing up on the Windsinger's Tale, she always looked up to the Guard. Everyone respected them and looked up to them. She always wanted to be a guard but without her left claw her ability to fight and serve was questionable. Dylan did manage to join the Guard, as a member of intelligence, where she did paperwork all day. That did little to satisfy her desire to become part of the Guard.

Shortly after she joined the Guard the former Commander Lucy suffered a terrible attack and ended up with amputated limbs. Dylan saw her get new limbs, crafted by skilled craftsmen who fit the limbs to her perfectly. If the Commander could get them so could she. Or so she thought.

Dylan was just a normal dragon. She was not terribly important or powerful. The cost of a new limb like the Commander got was beyond what she could ask for, or afford on her own. So she remained without her left claw.

When Kaley arrived in the Guard she made friends with Dylan. Dylan showed her around the barracks and how to navigate the many decks of the Tale. They became friends. Unlike Dylan though Kaley was a warrior and quickly rose to be the best. Dylan watched her friend become Commander of the Guard and knew there would be a barrier between them. She assumed at least. Kaley did not forget Dylan and once she'd solidified her power base amid the Guard Kaley commissioned skilled Fire metallurgists to construct a new left claw for Dylan.

With her new limb Dylan was free to join the Guard as a proper warrior. Kaley welcomed her but also didn't just give her things. Dylan worked her tail off to get the position she ended up in. As Second Lieutenant, leader of the Black Guard platoon, Dylan is responsible for training and commanding the members of the Caravan military that protect and guard those in power and valuable objects to the Caravan.

Dylan is an extremely proud Guardian who's recently only finished her Search. She found it in the witch Tess. Not exactly what Dylan was expecting but one doesn't complain about Charges. The two have moved beyond Guardian and Charge and Dylan has found that she's actually very fond of the young witch. Even in love with her.
