Zhu Li hails from a clan draped in shadows and whispers. She was born to the clan shaman, though word is that the environment was not suitable for raising another child. Zhu Li could have been chosen to serve the Shadow Mother, but instead she was sent off with a trade contract to be Auctioned into another clan. It is unclear as from where Zhu Li developed her personality traits, but she is highly dramatic and even manic at some times. Perhaps it was her fair coloration that saved her from Exaltation, perhaps it was something else entirely. But when Shavuot was on her search for new clan residents, little Zhu Li caught her eye. Other prospects for the Fae included Exaltation training camps. It seemed a difficult life for such a frail thing, and Shavuot took pity on her. The emissary of the Wild Oats settlement was already accompanied by a young Wildclaw whose contract she'd purchased in the Shifting Expanse, so what was one more fledgling dragon? Shavuot had her doubts as to how the Fae would manage in a farming community, but she seemed at least eager to try.

As a native of the forest, Zhu Li seemed to have a general knowledge of gathering she undoubtedly learned from her parents. While still just barely fledged, she would accompany the other residents of the town on ventures to gather food and supplies. As she got older, she was able to start going out on her own. In time, she was able to gather a supply of various nuts and planted a small orchard of Luminous Almonds. However, she is restricted to tend her almonds on her own time since she also works the apple orchard with Tobi.

Zhu Li is very much a people-pleaser and will say almost anything to cheer up a friend. This can sometimes get her into trouble in that she isn't always honest when she says such things. Her statements can often be contradictory and she is not often trusted to give a genuine opinion. But despite that, she is a gentle soul deep down. Some town residents can get flustered with her dramatic antics. Every encounter or conversation she has can be blown out of proportion when she recounts it, but most simply dismiss this as boredom rather than malicious intent to stretch a tale. Out of all the residents in the town, Zhu Li gets along best with Jeremiah, but even he doesn't share many commonalities with her. The little Fae is thrilled when travelers make their way through the town, eager to hear the latest news or gossip. Her hope is that one day, as she would say, a dragon as fun as her will come to the settlement and stay.

Zhu Li is a lover of bright colors and her passion is to obtain the sparkliest, most gaudy costume jewelry possible and is forever on the lookout for cheap, knock-off versions of the Divines' apparel sometimes bestowed upon devout dragons at Deity Festivals. She knows she could never afford lavish trinkets such as the genuine artifacts, but likes to pretend all the same. She wears her prized apparel to her job at the Kitesong Inn, where she works during the winter months when her crops aren't in season.

A small fae full of life and love, a simple farmer tolling the bright lands night and day. She's an eager thing, eager to please and eager to explore the swaying fields and curvatures that mark the landscape. Travelers from other lands pique her interest like nothing else can-stories of boiling gold rivers and deep waters make her eyes seem a bit less dark.

Daydreams of grand adventures and creatures like her will always haunt her waking thoughts. She could be royalty, so she tells others. She could be the daughter of a great Shadow queen-or a mysterious knight! Of course, she understands that it's not true. (She is not special and she is not royal.)

On the most desolate of nights, loneliness is her worst enemy. It is a savage and brutal thing that eats away at her young mind and fills her lungs with a heaviness unlike anything else. To combat such an evil force she fills her mind with half finished lullabies and fairytales stretched a bit too thin. Her dreams are ones full of stars and empty rooms, swaying barley and golden rivers-hot to the touch but never hot enough to burn her skin.
