Thunder

“Word spread because word will spread. Stories and secrets fight, stories win, shed new secrets, which new stories fight, and on.”
― China Miéville, Embassytown

A merchant by trade, Thunder is always on the move, going from lair to lair and Flight to Flight to sell his wares and buy new, exotic merchandise. As a result of his nomadic lifestyle he has a hard time making friends and has very few dragons he can count as such. His pride also complicates matters, easily offended when he’s not directly engaged in business related matters, there are times when he takes innocent questions the wrong way. That said, once he befriends an individual he is loyal to the extreme, not that he gets to see his few friends all that often since he is always on the move.

His one constant companion is his familiar, the creatively named ‘Locker’, whom he often entrusts with his pearl during travel. More than one thief has gotten a nasty surprise when poking around in Thunder’s crates of supplies as Locker is as loyal as his master and has even less tolerance of thieves. Word spread quickly, something that Thunder saw to himself, and now most thieves who have any commonsense at all know to avoid his cart. Even if Locker doesn’t get them there are other protective measures that Thunder has taken, some far worse than a mere bite from a mimic.

In addition to trading physical wares Thunder is a buyer and seller of secrets, something that tends to carry a far higher price than any object. Any secret can have value to the right individual and he has memory that would rival a Snapper when it comes to such things. In fact some of his best customers are Snappers as their constant wandering lends itself to hearing a great deal of the goings on in the world and they tend to have little use for anything they cannot carry with them. When he has the time he will seek out Snappers and cut deals with them, knowing that though it may be many years before he sees them again the efforts are nearly always profitable.

Of course while secrets have a price, so to does silence and there are times where he has been paid even more for silence on a subject than he would ever have made by telling it. Secrets are a risky business and a large part of the reason he has so few friends and is constantly on the move, his loyal nature would never allow him to put others at risk by spending too much time in one place. Despite how lonely it might seem, Thunder never regrets the way he chose to make his living. The adventures he had been on and the things he has learned have been too much fun and far too interesting for him to feel bad about. Why settle for reading about a place when you can see it for yourself?

Firstly, never show interest on it. Seriously. No matter how much you want one or a few being disinterested works miracles. Secondly - and this works most of the time - pretend you are one. Jaguar scrolls are notably elusive but gather often around other Jaguars.'

If you still insist trying remember to take light with you. With certain spells you can grow them yourself but store bought deep sea bulps are fine, too.

Just remember that even though you can't see them they can certainly see you

Oh, you just wanted a scroll? I think I can get one for you.

Hm? Do I always warn about the crocheters? No, just you

You wish to get the recipe? That'll cost you two to three secrets

Worry not! Olokum's Professional Treasure Hunters will help you for only a small price of 500kt per dive! OPTH promises swift dives and throughout search of the area you have selected!

The item can be returned if it's unused and in perfect condition, and you have the receipt and that receipt has been signed by me (upon purchase) and Swipp (upon checking the condition).

The secret must be untold (which will be verified by a truth spell) and you must provide us with a working memory spell. The secret must be returned before refund.

If any of the conditions are not filled you will not be able to return the purchase
