Raizel was one of the founding members of the Diamond Rooks. At the time, she was young, inexperienced, and entirely hot headed, yearning to escape the darkness of the Tangled Wood. Her eagerness and instinctual drive to keep busy made her the perfect candidate for engaging in battles. With Bassam and Lufti at her side, the three were unstoppable. As time wore on, it became more difficult for the three to go on their hunts together in the coliseum, but they made sure to always set aside a little bit of time regardless. They never spoke much during their outings, despite the amount of time they spent with one another, but it remained apparent that they somehow enjoyed each other's company. Raizel had never been keen on picking up a mate. Instead, she greatly enjoyed wandering around the village with Melamin or practicing her battle strength against her closest friend, Ferine. The Wildclaw was very dear to her and was even regarded almost as a daughter. She would also visit her birth family on occasion, though she never made it a point to stay very long; the Foxfire Bramble wasn't exactly inviting.
---
Little Warrior Raizel bid her father a solemn farewell, briefly touching the flats of her hands against his. The two need not say what was on their minds for their faces betrayed their emotions. They had never been particularly close with one another; he may have done the majority of the work in raising her, but she had always had more of a fondness for her mother. She had no knowledge of when the Plaguebringer had taken her mother away from her, only that she had. Raizel left too, though it was on her own accord. There simply was no reason to live with something that once was. The memories flooded her with every visit to her father, but she refused to let them deter her. He was too loving to abandon completely and it was worth the pain it brought her to see him. The sentiments were mutual. She took to the skies and left in silence. As she neared the edge of the Foxfire Bramble, a muffled sob echoed from below. She had almost missed it, relating it instead to the tricks of the murky woods, but it was louder the second time. It pierced the mist with a shocking agony that could not be ignored. Down below was a wee babe of a hatchling, a wildclaw stuck in a patch of nasty nettle. Part of her wing was caught and torn, though nothing which could not be fixed with proper care. Raizel swooped down and delicately wove through the nettle, humming a peaceful tune to help relax the little one as she began to unbind her. "Sh, sh, shhh," she coaxed, as her talons worked meticulously, "It'll be okay; I'm going to get you out of here. Tell me, what's your name, little beasty?" The wildclaw stifled back her tears and managed to squeak out a response, "Name?" Raizel stared in disbelief momentarily, stuck in a sort of stupor at one not knowing their name, or what that even entailed, "It's... well, it is something in which other dragons call you by. You can call me Raizel. What should I call you?" The hatchling thought for a moment, but then shrugged. Raizel managed to work away the last bit of nettle and free the tiny dragon from her confinement, "How about Ferine?" "I like that!" The wildclaw clambered across the spiral's back, taking refuge among a set of wings where she then proceeded to poke and prod at the fancy armor. "I like this!" This elicited quite the rowdy response. Raizel's laughter all but echoed through the dark night, "When you're old enough, I'll have Kelisea make you a set that is just as good as mine, if not better!" |
↬ EXTRA INFO ↫
Raizel loves baths. She is usually incredibly dirty from her battles in the coliseum, so a cool bath in a nearby lake or stream is somewhat of a delicacy for her. |
