It started with just a couple of small things, typical Veilspun behavior. Nothing out of the ordinary. One of Keidan's fossils here, a shovel there, a spot of pauper larvae, and a crate filled with random trinkets. But over time, the hoard grew. It was too much for the hollow of the strangler fig, so Beira began to leave junk down at the bottom in the midst of the town square. Most other dragons found the entire thing deranged, just a weird veil hobby, as she did appear to have some sort of strange system for organizing all of it. They would step over the piles of random objects as if they were just a regular stone on the dirt path. When it became clear that this was no mere stash, she was kindly asked to make a formal home for all of it on the east side of the village. With the help of Fusion and Flux, she had vines and willow shoots woven together around, through, and over a giant behemoth root, encasing somewhat of a bizarre yard. From there, she worked diligently to get all of the belongings tucked away into their perfect homes. Insects in one grouping, metal baubles in another, stone relics placed upon a ridge that she had carefully carved into a section of the root - everything had a spot. She even managed to create a special nook for highly valuable (to her, anyway) possessions which very few dragons could convince her to part with. At this point, residents of the sanctuary began offering her their leftover goods and belongings that they no longer wished to keep stored in their own dens. Some would seek out a specific trinket and barter with her for them, others would simply ask if they could have or use them instead. She ended up becoming quite the hoard master and eventually turned the fence area into an odd sort of rubbish heap, highly organized and taken care of, which all dragons could access when in need of certain goods. The one thing she would refuse to house was any sort of mushroom - they were squishy, gross, and would rot far too quickly. She hated them. |
↬ EXTRA INFO ↫
All of the Veilspuns, save for Fracas, slumber together as one group in the hallow of a towering strangler fig. The alcove is high above the main square and overlooks a large swath of Glademother's southern jungle. Beira is a Portuguese word that means ‘edge’ or ‘side’. Beira is also the mother to all the gods and goddesses in the Celtic mythology of Scotland. |

I had always just treated it as a random function of the game that had no actual lore around it, but this thread inspired me to entrust one of my veilspuns to it!
Mine is now a slightly organized big pile? But the residents basically treat it as a sort of junkyard for things.
And the vault is not so much a vault as it is basically the private, special hoard of the veilspun, but it's kept in the same area as the hoard. She just gets rather possessive of said items and rarely parts with them.
