Fade

Fade glared at the black Imperial in front of him. The Imperial glared back coldly, his tail lashing. Fade was at war against an apposing clan-and this Imperial was the Leader. Fade charged at the Imperial, but before he could do anything, the Imperial dodged, slipped behind Fade, and pinned him down. Fade struggled against the dragon, unable to move. "Ngh..." The black Imperial smiled coldly. "You can't escape Clan Nightmare's wrath, Fade. Nobody can..." Fade glared at the Imperial. "I can't... but I can try to stop you and your cruel Clan, Razor..." Razor's smile turned into a scowl. "Oh, you will never stop Clan Nightmare. Your weak little Clan Whispering Wisp is nothing compared to us-They would be better off not existing. Kill all the weak Clan's. Only the strong survive..." Razor dug a claw into Fade's back, then turned his head, looking at Fade from the corner of his eye. "Oh, and your friend Breeze... You get to watch her die right before your eyes." Razor smiled, then, still holding Fade down, turned Fade's head towards an Imperial Female surrounded by Wildclaw's and Mirror's. Fade's eyes widened in fear. "No... Not Breeze..." Breeze turned her head and saw Fade and Razor. "Fade! Hel-" She gasped, then collapsed. Behind her was a Wildclaw in a cloak. Breeze trembled. "Fade... I l-love you..." Her eyes closed, and she went still. Fade stared in terror and shock. "No! Breeze!" Then Razor shoved Fade's face into the ground. "Agh!" Fade tried to struggle, but couldn't get up... "Poor weak, little Fade. The old leader, Rane, was much stronger then anybody. But even I killed her." Razor smiled. "Now die!" Razor hit Fade hard on the side of the head. It hit with a loud CRACK!*, and Fade felt dizzy. Razor hit him again. CRACK! The world spun. I... have to avenge Breeze... Fade thought. Fade yelled in rage and pain and got up, pushing Razor off of him, and charged, ramming into him. Razor looked surprised, but then got his balance back. Razor charged at Fade, glaring coldly right into Fade's eyes. But Fade didn't care. He pushed Razor back, towards the nearby cliff. Razor saw it out of the corner of his eye, then looked back at Fade, a hatred cold as ice in his eyes. "I will not be beat by a weakling!" Razor yelled. Fade smiled. "I am not a weakling. But you are." Fade reared, his armor reflecting the sun shining from behind the clouds. Then he slammed down onto Razor, knocking him off the edge. Razor screamed, falling down, down, down... The dragons immediately stopped fighting. They all stared at Fade. Then the dragons of Whispering Wisp started to cheer, and the Nightmare dragons fled, scattering everywhere. Fade smiled, then, feeling weak, backed away from the edge, then limped over to Breeze. I'm sorry I couldn't save you, Breeze... Fade thought sadly. Fade collapsed next to her, weak with sadness, and blacked out.

...Ugh. Where am I? Fade opened his eyes. Then he remembered the battle... Breeze... He was on a soft, moss bed. He didn't have his armor on. He sat up, looking around. He was in the Whispering Wisp camp, inside the Healer's den... "You're awake!" Fade saw a Caribbean Skydancer at the edge of the Den. She was the Healer, Echo. Fade smiled. "Hello, Echo." Echo smiled back, then a squeal was heard outside. She turned and looked out. "Not again..." Fade could hear voices... "Ow! My claw!" "You should be more careful, fluff-brain!" "I-I'm not a fluff-brain!" "Then why do you have hair all over your body?" Echo walked out, an edge to her voice. "Ok, what is going on here?" "Echo, Miss fluff-brain here wrenched her claw trying to run after me!" Yelped one voice. Echo sighed. "Ren, you know Suralee is younger then you, and smaller. And why was she trying to run after you in the first place?" Fade could hear a shuffling sound. "I don't know, Echo! Honestly!" Sighed Ren. Then Fade heard Suralee squeak weakly. "No, Ren stole my Earthshaker Diety Doll!" "Did not!" "Did too!" Echo yelled above the arguing. "Alright, that's ENOUGH! Ren, give Suralee the toy back, and Suralee, go to my Den so I can treat your claw." "Yes, Echo!" Both of the hatchlings squeaked. After a moment, Fade heard footsteps, and saw a small, white tundra hatchling limp in. She looked only a day old... But she was small, even for a hatchling. Fade didn't remember her being in the Clan before the Clan Nightmare fight. Then Suralee squeaked, staring at Fade. "Wow, you're huge!" She gasped. Fade smiled. "There's dragons probably much bigger then me somewhere in the world." Suralee squeaked, then sat down nearby, wincing as her claw touched the ground. After a moment, Echo walked in. She went over to Suralee and started treating her. "Echo? When did Suralee arrive?" Fade asked hesitantly. Echo turned her head slightly to look at Fade. "Right after you and most of the other dragons went to battle, I found Suralee at the entrance to camp. She doesn't remember much other then her name..." Fade looked back at Suralee. She seemed so small... After a minute or so, Suralee had a cast wrapped around her leg. "That's the best I can do." Echo sighed. "It feels better already! Thank you, Echo!" Said Suralee happily. Echo nodded, then started sorting her herbs. Suralee started to limp out. I wonder if she's lonely... Thought Fade. "Wait." Said Fade. He wasn't sure why he said wait. He fumbled for words. Suralee looked back at Fade, tilting her head slightly. "Huh?" Fade opened his mouth, unsure what to say for a moment, then spoke. "Are you lonely?" Suralee flinched from the question, then looked down. "A little... None of the other hatchlings share a nest with me. They all think I'm weak, and shouldn't be around..." Suralee shut her eyes tightly. "None of them want to be my friend..." She let out a whimper, then limped out of the den. Fade got up, wincing as his head started to pound. Echo narrowed her eyes and got up. "Don't make sudden movements. Your head was the most injured part of your body. You... you nearly died." Her eyes were dark. "Alright, I'll be careful." Fade smiled, then walked out. He saw Suralee near the edge of the clearing. As he started to walk over to her, she got up. She limped over to a small, makeshift nest and sat down. She hugged her toy, and, sighing, she curled up.
