‘Do you really think I enjoy serving up these lies?’ Morgan spends his time gazing into the icy sea, claiming to see visions in the running waters. Unfortunately, Seer powers are fickle, and sometimes he ends up finding exactly what he wasn’t looking for. He’s developed a wry sense of humour as a result, occasionally trolling his lairmates with silly prophecies if he cannot find what they seek. Visions hid in the water. Sometimes they would appear on the surface, speak of the future. The ice panted and the water moaned, if only you could understand what they said. And Morgan did. But Seer powers are fickle, and the visions were not always what Morgan was looking for. When looking for the outcome of a battle he saw death, when searching for a lost hatchling he saw blood. Sometimes he just wanted to know the weather, yet he saw destruction. And other times he saw nothing in the water, for the visions danced far below the surface, too deep for him to read. At times they eluded him for weeks at a time, at times even longer than that, long enough for him to think the visions had abandoned him. But they came back. Sometimes they told him what he wanted to know. Mostly, they didn't. And what could he tell his clanmates, but invented prophecies? They would not understand, they couldn't understand how the visions played with him, how they hid from him amd showed him what he didn't want to see, they couldn't, wouldn't understand. There was nothing left to tell them. Only one thing to do. He didn't have any choice, he didn't! Lies lies lies LIES |
