The inked dragons are multiplying rapidly and causing trouble for the entire Ship, and yet nothing can keep Fingers from her art. Suffused as they are with Plaguey essence, the inks will even envelop and possess living dragons from whom they'll bud and continue to spread. The crew is mounting a rare cooperative effort to try to deport the excess inkies so that they can be someone else's problem, but sometimes they just spawn and return home like some kind of reverse salmon. Maybe they should deport Fingers…
June 6, Year 19
Named for her talons, which are so dextrous they resemble fingers. She, the youngest sibling, was dipped in white gold as a hatchling and surprisingly it looks rather good where it's fused to her scales. If it weren't for the dipping she'd be the spitting image of her mother.
Fingers began inking at an early age. She saw painters at the Auction House and tried to emulate them at home by letting out some of the Ship's inky blood and smearing it around. It was the handiest material: unlike expensive paints, there was always a ready supply in nearly any desired color. Fingers' favorite color of all is black. Black is beautiful!
In addition to the support from her loving father, Fingers has gotten some attention from the Cap'n. "See here is someone who does not have a job and is perfectly happy! Why do the rest of you insist on making jobs for yourselves when I specifically said that you do not have to! I am trying to build a world in which nobody has a job and you are- you all- you all suck!" Humerus would say. He's not always at his most persuasive.
But of course to Fingers it doesn't matter whether or not inking is a job. It's a calling. Through constant practice and careful observation, she's become something of a prodigy whose creations come to life as soon as she dots their eyes. (But is that pure skill, or something to do with the inking materials?)
Like her siblings, she inherited her Dad's lousy eyesight, so her backgrounds tend to be rather blurry.
