Biography
"My momma told me that no matter what price you sell for, you're making infinity percent resale value if you got it for free."
June 8, Year 21
Great news!
Meatheart's son, Glitterguts, has replaced her as financial manager of the Ship, a job that had only ever been hers by default anyway. She greatly prefers to work in the field- Wind in her scales. Sun on her wings. Blood on her everything.
Meatheart is as pleasantly surprised as the next guy, having spent no more time getting to know her own children than the next guy.
May 26, Year 8
Meatheart has grown into the strongest dragon in the clan. She would never settle for less. (Although it is a small clan, and Bloodsore is still proportionally stronger. But none of that matters, she's the strongest!)
Because of her accomplishments in the field of fighting things and taking their treasure, and because she's best buddies with both Cap'ns, Meatheart feels that she's earned the right to tell everyone below her what to do. Usually this involves shouting out some half-explained plan and then flying off on a solo expedition.
She's serious about acquiring treasure however possible- it's her job, right- and though obsessive hours poring over records of collectors' hoards have allowed her to appraise items with virtually supernatural accuracy, her plans for obtaining them are rarely more complex than, "Is it nailed down?" She vaguely remembers the phrase, "Buy low, sell high," and will often repeat it while ordering a shipmate to steal something.
And yeah, her and Wormix, they- yeah, I know. No, I don't think it will end well.
May 21, Year 3
She always went out too long on hunts and scavenges for her former clan. She was overzealous. Hot blooded. "Spunky."
On one run this single-minded dragon got so lost- in her task, let alone lost directionally- that she scavenged all the way the Scarred Wasteland. In fact, she had traveled to the exact butthole of the wilderness.
She found herself hunting alongside a prowler from a local clan. No one is quite sure what happened; she and Bloodsore both had eyes only for their quarry, yet they cooperated on autopilot, united by a shared sense of nonjudgmental practicality, and by the time anyone stopped to take stock they were already close friends in their own personal ways. And it's been more or less like that ever since. Meatheart- as Humerus named her, and he's persuasive you know- was just as happy to stay with the tiny gang that appreciated her work addiction and didn't ask too many inconvenient questions, rather than return to a home that had probably written her off by now anyway.
Her tertiary gene is actually Basic.
But hey, at least it's not personal.
