baraq's incredible speed and energy serve his name well. he was caught trying to steal from the clan's food stores by dagny (thankfully, because no one else would have been so forgiving). normally he would have run away--quickly--but something about the guardian struck him. he sort of forced his way into the clan from there, and has now been in horesh longer than most.

he's flighty, unpredictable, light-hearted, and kind. he's also very friendly and desperate for friendship, to the annoyance of most of his clanmates. he's always honest, but it's better described as being blunt. he's not very good at thinking through his thoughts before he says them. though his sincerity has manifested into some heartwarming compliments (usually directed at dagny), it's also created grounds for many scuffles with the rest of his clan mates.

he serves as a courier, delivering correspondence between clan members and their home clans. he often goes on supply runs for lev (getting product), or for any of the clan's numerous craftsmen (getting supplies). he's fairly easy-going so long as he can do something engaging. rumor has it that he is at least partially blind; no one can tell for sure because his icey pale eyes would obscure any abnormalities, anyhow. he does stumble and trip quite a bit, despite his speed and surefooted-ness. this may just be because of how energetic and easily excited he is. in any case, he doesn't let his alleged affliction get the best of him--baraq always gets the job done, some way, somehow.
