Biography
Shadowplay v1
S H A D O W P L A Y
Shadowplay -- the loner, the father, the de facto leader of this mismatched pack. No one’s quite sure if it is a Mirror beneath the masks he wears, brimming with barely-concealed, obscure magick.
His official story is quite mundane; like many Mirrors, he was a part of a pack, constantly flowing between groups. He perfected the art of the ambush and concealing magicks at an early age, learning to twist his contrasting pelt colors to his own advantage. A particularly ambitious peer sought to dispose of him, seeing him as a potential rival. Then Shadowplay made a grievous mistake -- arrogant and in his prime, the Mirror had underestimated the cunning of his fellow, assuming him as yet another brash fool.
He was freezing and near-death when Pyrite found him and nursed him back to good health. Out of a feeling of obligation, gratitude, or even misplaced fancies (for no one can imagine the stoic Shadowplay stayed merely out of affection), he chose to stay with the Guardian instead of rejoining his kin-brothers and -sisters.
To ouside appearances, he’s aloof and unusually solitary (for a Mirror), preferring actions over words. To those in his clan, he is a surrogate father who leads with a quiet and firm certainty… and although a little strange, they all agree wholeheartedly that they won’t change him for all of Sornieth.
Little do they know the true tale of those glittering eyes, shrouded beneath cloaks that wear the very shadows as a second pelt.
