Personality

Strict, harsh, protective. Varjoemo can’t be easily shaken and her devotion to the clan Levinflare makes her a very powerful force among the other clans in the territory. Not only is she a very dominant figure, Varjoemo also has the charisma and the confidence to be the leading voice in her clan. Varjoemo doesn’t shy away from battles and the clan is built on a militaristic foundation. She’s intelligent lady who keeps her intentions and thoughts to herself and doesn’t open up easily; not even after many years of mutual friendship or commitment.

She’s not the type to be easily impressed by much, and she shows it clearly – she doesn’t have time or patience to deal with the things she despises or considers unworthy. She is stern and unapologetic with her decisions, and what she wants is what she gets. She’s a bit of a sore loser and while she approves power and force when she sees some, she doesn’t like the idea to be bested by anyone.

As cold and unforgiving as she seems and is, Varjoemo is still a Guardian to the core; her Charge, simply just Protect, makes her instinctively to seek and protect those who aren’t able to protect themselves. Her whole clan is her Charge and even those smaller, not-so-violent dragons are under her protection as long as she says so; and boy can she be protective of her own.

As for her hobbies, Varjoemo is into everything that’s shiny and glittery; collectible gems, stones… other dragons. And while she has committed herself to one and only gentleman for life, the pair has agreed that they both can enjoy certain company of other dragons as well. Varjoemo is very open-minded of these things and her lair, while it can be very demanding, is a very free and protected place to live.

History

Protect.
As long as she can remember, it has always been that. Protect. One word, one meaning, nothing else.

Varjoemo comes from the northern lightning clans, where circuited dragons ruled their empire. She didn’t have any parents; truth to be told, she can’t really remember anything of her childhood. This is because she was born a Progen, a dragon without parents; and because of this she was supposed to be the grand jewel of the whole clan. And she was, for a while.

But then the gems appeared.

The circuited ones loathed the gene that Emo carried; they saw only abscesses and sickness in the guardian that was terrified of what was happening to her. She was nothing to them; or so she hoped when they started to beat her, constantly. Through her whole adolescence Varjoemo was forced to live in the edges of the clan, barely a member but still not being able to leave. She was a Progen, after all, and a worthy of something.

But Varjoemo grew; and as she did, so did her powers.
It didn’t matter that the circuited tried to keep her submissive and weak with all their powers; Varjoemo surprised them all by growing to be a big, even massive guardian female, who had the lightning itself stored in the gems appearing all over her body.

And as the fear ended, rage was born.

She was called Stormborne; first laughed out as an insult, yet it was whispered only with fear and awe in the end.

It’s not clear, if the northern circuit clans still exist; when Varjoemo left, there were only ruins, only lightning to rip them apart.
The guardian followed her Charge with an urge she couldn’t quite understand; and when she roamed the empty plains of the Shifting Expanse, she felt Stormcatcher’s presence, their voice. Maybe it was them who made it possible for her to cross paths with two small imperials, who were savagely attacked by a pack of mirrors on that very faithful night…
