Meringue came to Wayfarer's Rest after encountering several of the members of the clan during Brightshine Jubilee and hearing about Bloodstone. Intrigued, she made her way to the Windswept Plateau to see what this master chef thought of her own skills.

Unlike her co-worker, Syrah, Meringue approached the tempermental coatl much more respectively, and rather than saunter her way into the kitchens, she had the honor of being the first dragon to ever be invited to stay as a full time employee.

She admits the story is less impressive once you find out that Bloodstone mostly offered her the position because she dislikes sweet things and she could pass all those jobs off onto Meringue once the other coatl had proved she could cook to Bloodstone's high standards.

Settling into the wind clan was easy, despite one major setback: Meringue does not speak the common tongue very well, and as a result she comes off as shy or standoffish because she prefers to speak as little as possible unless she can use her native tongue. Luckily for her, Wayfarer's Rest utilized a sign language amongst it's members that she quickly picked up on, allowing an easier flow of communication when at home.

As time passed, she became the de-facto leader of the kitchen for when Bloodstone was not around (and then even further down the road, official sous chef), a responsibility Meringue does not take lightly.

Except where hatchlings are concerned. They know exactly who to go to if they want cupcakes before dinner.

And the less said about the loopholes she's utilized to keep Ursus out of trouble the better.

Meringue is relatively neutral on Kakigori. She finds the skydancer to be rather standoffish and doesn't bother interacting with her outside of work, but the two do have a fairly dependable working relationship, which is good as, as sous chef, Meringue has to deal with nearly all of the paperwork in regards to specific orders and what inventory is being sent out with the merchant.
