Donai - The Greed
   |
He is a quiet, calm dragon, much different then one he used to be. Living in company of mighty Ridgebacks, Guardian learnt that raw, brutal strength is not always way to go and his struggle and uncanny allies taught him that there are things more important than riches he sought for - don't let that fool you, though, Donai is still one of Shemei's champion fighters and his skills earned him the position of clan's treasurer. When not dug deep inside vault or browsing through hoard, Donai can be easily found in company of his soulmate, Vanai. As many of the Shemei's dragons, Donai started as a brigand. He was a leader of a band, cause his groups of misfits could hardly be called a clan, that lived of others work. Never feeling attached to anyone, he made himself infamous for escaping from every hunt on his head and, even though death met most his companions during those, he never found himself short of volunteers willing to risk their life for treasures. When they retreated to their hideout to lick wounds after one of such raids, they were approached by Xanael. Strong Ridgeback male was in troubles himself and was willing to give up some of his freedom for security. Relationship between Donai and Xanael was an uneasy one. With former used to rule with iron fist and latter not really keen on being led by anyone, the two had many heated arguments between them, but even though they sometimes fought, Xanael always eventually returned to join back with the band. When working together they amassed massive fortune and everyone around trembled when their names were mentioned. Unfortunately, one day everything ended. Xanael left Donai with whole treasure and massive, gaping wounds on his muzzle. Even today none of two males won't tell what happened that day, though there's no animosity between them. For Donai, everything went downhill from this day. His wounds healed poorly and he was left weakened, with massive scars. His pasts was finally gaining on him and, during one of the chases, his streak of miracles ended. With his loot taken and awaiting judgment of dragons he wronged, he succumbed to apathy. Kept almost as animal by leader of clan that tracked him down, he fought for his amusement and would surely die there, if not Xanael - again. Male, who at this time was already one of Shemei's sergeants, helping her to establish new reign over freshly conquered territories, broke into their lair and freed Donai, taking him back to female he was serving. Encountered with sudden intrusion of chase on their tails, Shemei would surely give Guardian back, if their leader didn't make foolish mistake of demanding his return. Young female, still prone to red hot anger back then, responded with full force, almost depleting her lair of able-bodied dragons. She went to open war, leaving the wounded male behind with barely a flock of Nocturnes to watch over everything. One of them, a cheerful, friendly one named Vanai, was tasked with looking after Donai and in his able claws male quickly returned to his prime, though his previous self was nowhere to be found. Shemei, surprised, returned from her war to meet not piles of loot lying around the halls of her lair, but neatly organised treasury. Appreciating his effort, Shemei officially made massive Guardian her treasurer. |
