Meisha - The Mother

Nowadays Meisha is nothing but a shadow of her previous self. Withdrawn and silent, despite her impressive size capable of almost vanishing in tunnels of Shemei's lair on rare occasions when she's actually there. She's always seen by her daughter's side in the moment of need, serving Shemei with advice from both herself and Oronael, to whom she travels frequently. Though currently it's hard to get but a sparkle from her, whole clan still remembers - and fears - bright flame of her anger. Oldest members of clan remember Meisha as loud, obnoxious dragon, but those few who had luck to fight along her side have nothing but fond memories of her, saying she was rough around the edges, but there was no one better to have by your side - whether in combat or outside of it. Always demanding obedience and forcing discipline, she slowly climbed the ladder until, one day, clan's council elected her as their new leader when the old one died by hand (hoof) of Beastclans. This proved to be downfall of powerful female, though it unraveled slowly. Her new duties weighed her down, her obligations for council slowly separated her from her old friends and soon it turned out that she was more and more steered by old dragons. Meisha started her own war against council, she sabotaged the meetings, leaving them in the middle, and lingered with vital for clan decisions. Despite of that, no one dared to oppose her and so it carried on, with clan barely functioning between her tantrums, during which it was paralyzed when she was abandoning them. And then Meisha met Oronael. Male led small clan which asked for passage through Meisha's grounds, unable to make travel swift due to their Snappers weighing them down. She let them go, against council's will, and even used her own clan's distrust as excuse to personally 'oversee' their movements. Both leaders kept their affair in secret and continued it even long after Oronael's clan chose new lair. Female hid the fruits of their meeting in nest, which she kept in secret from both male and her own clan, from now on dividing her attention between male, their eggs and leader's duties. In the meantime, her clan's council got sick of unruly female that was prone to unload her anger on its members and decided to find her a worthy mate. Meisha, reluctant to this idea, decided to agree anyway and end what she had with Oronael before it will be too late. She didn't know that her beloved one abandoned his own clan under cover of night, adamant to either live with her or in complete solitude. He appeared at their hideout earlier this time and, lured by familiar scent, found Meisha's nest just in time to help the last surviving hatchling out of its egg. Oronael appeared with little Shemei at Meisha's lair when female was still at council meeting. Asked about what happened then, female will, truthfully, answer that she remembers only red haze. Council demanded swift and secret death for both male and their hatchling and never before had the halls of the clan seen such a flame. Meisha stormed out of lair taking Oronael and Shemei with her, leaving no one capable of pursuing them on her way. She slowly withdrew when they were living on borders of Tangled Wood. It looked like her temper and vigor slowly sipped from her to her daughter and the bigger and more devoted to the revenge Shemei grew, the calmer and more placid her mother was. When Oronael left Meisha almost stopped talking at all, worried about the wall that grew between Shemei and her father after their ways parted. When Shemei led her to hall of council, Meisha seemed to be completely absent. She refused to become leader again in plain words and passed this privilege onto her daughter. |
