Barghast, the name given to a legendary monstrous black dog with huge teeth,claws and with fiery eyes. Tt could also become invisible and walk about with the sound of rattling chains, and sometimes the name given to a dark ghost. At the death of any notable person the barghast would appear, followed by all the other dogs of the local region in a kind of funeral procession, and begin howling and baying. It may also foretell the death of an individual by lying across the threshold of his or her house
As mysterious as his given name foretells this shimmering apparition of a skydancer blends seamlessly into the darkness. The land of the light was too bright for him, and he could not be easily concealed as he wished, so making his way he quickly found the Sanrixian clan. Rocavian accepted him with a nod. And since Barghast as made a silent home in the mighty lair; golden eyes the only announcement of his appearance, moving with the grace of a ghost. His words few, his movements dedicated and planned. He finds solace in his mate Bashvyl, who usually does his speaking for him. Many of his horns and feathers sparkle with golden adornments that throw off his appearance in the dimly lit shadow lands, making him appear just as ghostly as his name.
Barghast is king regent to Lord Rocavian, in charge of scavenging the wastelands for precious treasures. His cold and calm demeanor and non nonsense aggressive "bargaining" skills have earned him scars and a reputation of swift and silent danger.
