Sokkara was brought into the Clan as a baby upon the departure to Lightning of Vervain, one of the Sunbeam Ruins explorers. With a spot open in the explorers' den free, Sokkara was amongst a number of candidates located as a potential replacement. Coming from a prestigious Plague clan, her mother a fearsome demon and her father a cool, calculating conductor of ceremonies, Sokkara was negotiated from the clan in exchange for a large sum of treasure upon Morgana's request. Mysterious as she was beautiful, she displayed a great intelligence the clan wanted to possess, whatever the cost.

Sokkara was originally intended to take up a spot as an explorer, as there was one vacant. However, the mercurial young plagueling had a very philosophical - yet rather whimsical - mind that attracted her to the study of magic, a job which the Clan had a hefty sect of dragons dedicated to. Not one to stand in the way of her dreams, she was taken in by Coppelia and taught basic magic control which she grasped exceedingly fast, eventually developing her own talent: magic runes.

Sokkara now protects the clan by going out with the scouts and laying runes around the borders of their territory with her plague magic to prevent intruders. Her job has become invaluable and the clan has suffered far less attacks after her arrival. Due to being the first Plague Skydancer in the clan since Boethiah, whom not many still remember, she tends to unintentionally intimidate some of the more naive clan dragons - especially Emrys and other Nature dragons - but those in the Mages' circle of the clan who know her well are adamant there is nothing to fear and consider discrimination based on birth flight ridiculous.

Sokkara herself is an intensely passionate dragon when it comes to her interests - and self-interests. The notion of good and bad is foreign to her - she operates under the veil of grey morality with no emotional repercussions when it comes to experimenting her new runes, often using prisoners of war from the beastclans, much to Peony's dismay. Morgana has promised her that if she becomes leader, she will permit Sokkara to extend the subjects of her experiments to hatchlings. Needless to say, the Runist has sided with Morgana in the civil war.
