Velka was born to a guardian mother and spiral father. She inherited her father's free-spirited, flippant behaviour and high energy, alongside the instinctual need to find someone or thing to protect.

- Adolescent Biography

Velka grew into a strong and high-spirited guardian who relied on instinct far more than what she'd been ordered or told to do.
Like a bloodhound following its nose, paying no heed to traffic or those calling for it, she wandered far from home in search of her charge and never looked back.

- Adult Biography

She traveled far and wide in search of her charge, but always fell short, unable to hone in for reasons she could not understand. But over these years of wandering, she grew strong and fierce in battle, prepared for most anything.

This caught the eye of then-Queen Pepper, who hired her on as a guard, and had her make use of a breed change scroll to dull her guardian instincts.

It did work somewhat, and she settled down.

She found a mate and had children, though he disappeared during the attack on Amberspire, and her most beloved daughter passed away soon after.

Always hard-to-read, her slightly erratic behaviour kept anyone from properly assessing her mental state. She seemed energetic and vivacious as ever, but something also seemed... wrong.

She found solace months later in Amberspire's new contractor, who she immediately recognized as the charge she'd spent so much of her life in search of.

She was key in strongarming him into staying.
