He never considered himself royalty for his duty in leading the clan.

It was a completely foreign concept to him, one that he couldn't truly comprehend. He was first treated as such by the few that came from titled families and clans that had grown to be kingdoms and empires. They all called him "My Lord" and "His Highness", or in one very brief and enraging case that did not end well at all, "My Lady".

He was able to convince them to put away the titles and simply live the way all the dragons of his clan did, but the others would not.

It was only mildly annoying then, but now...
