"Folks will try to stop you from achieving greatness. Don’t let them. You were born for something amazing."
❁ STORY
Inerri was the very first dragon to join Venin’s clan (Norok doesn’t count; she was there to begin with). The little Fae had suffered some terrible wounds when Venin found her on the northern border of the Woods. Even after he tended to them, coaxing her back from death, she remains blind in one eye. To hide the scarring done to her body, she keeps herself covered as much as she can. Whatever horrible things happened, though, she doesn’t like to talk or think about them. It’s healthier, and besides, she doesn’t live in the past. Loyal almost to a fault, she owes her life to Venin and became an integral part of the clan’s foundation. Though these days, the reasons behind her near familial fondness for Venin remain more of a mystery. (One the hatchlings delight in forming conspiracies about.) She’s an unwavering optimist, certain that there will be a bright future. Always ready to believe the best in others, it’s a trait that has both benefited and hindered the clan in the past. But regardless of her idealism, her faith that there is still good in the world has had a significant impact on how the clan is run. The Reliquary is founded on giving second chances after all, and Inerri is always ready to forgive (whether she forgets is another question entirely). In the early days, she was everything to the growing clan. Their cook and healer, the one who watched the hatchlings and taught them later. So much responsibility on her little shoulders. She’s thankful that as time has passed their population has expanded significantly, bringing those to relieve her of so many burdens. Food is now entirely Osprey’s area and Fen takes care of the healing (with occasional help from Lotus). Inerri appreciates this a lot. It was incredibly stressful. Her compassion and patience makes her especially suited to watching over the hatchlings. While she’s glad to have occasional help in that respect from Feldspar and the others, she does love them very much. It saddens her that her mate – a Mirror from an allied Light clan – lives too far away for them to start their own family. But having the children of others to raise does a good job of filling that hole in her heart. And she has helped plenty of the clan’s residents raise little ones of their own. Even though she’s a pacifist who will avoid confrontation at all costs, Inerri and Norok have always had a… troubled relationship. Never one to fight, though, her relationship with Norok has long been strained. They get along better these days than they used to, but relations are still frosty. Maybe one day they’ll be civil with each other for more than five seconds. In essence, Inerri is the grandmother figure of the clan, the hatchery is always open to those who want to talk (or eat her sweets). She’s so kind and calm and her gentle smile more reassuring than anything else in the world. Even Venin seeks out her guidance from time to time. Sometimes it’s nice to have a little ray of light bringing hope and happiness. ❁ OTHER
